The NVR was packaged nicely and arrived on time. At first taking it out of the box it way smaller than I was expecting. For some reason I was expecting twice the size as I took it out of the box I was pleasantly surprised to see it was again, much smaller than anticipated. It fit nicely in my rack on the top shelf along with the POE switch I connected it too. Before doing that, I installed the 4TB hard drive I bought that was very easy to install and setup. Nothing to it! I took the case off and slid the drive in and connected the cables and put the cover back on. That was it, very simple and it took me all of ten minutes, if that, to do. Next, I connected the HDMI cable to my Denon receiver and I used the NVR software to find and add my cameras. Having all of my cameras ONVIF compatible didn't hurt and it made it very easy. The image of my cameras seem to be better than using their own included software and I was able to find the hard drive and format it and use it right away. I've read some of the other reviews and obviously there are those who are technically challenged. Make sure you have any wireless cameras in the same network and you'll find them like I did with no problem. Also, the PoE switch ports have no settings. Just connect the cat cable and it should work just fine. I didn't have any issues and the entire process took minutes. I'm very happy with this NVR and I highly recommend it to anybody looking for an NVR to consolidate all of their cameras into one place to look at and maintain.

I purchased in February of 2020 in order to secure my house. The 4TB drive was initially enough to keep a couple weeks of footage on it for 7 cameras. Well as of February of 2023, I noticed that I could only keep about 5 days of footage on the 4TB drive. So I did some research and found out that the average life of a NVR Hard Drive is around 3 years. So I sought out a replacement drive, the 18TB Western Digital Purple Pro.When I first installed the WD Purple Pro, I noticed that the NVR was only seeing 4TB of the drive when it was mounted but seeing the full capacity when doing a sector check. I thought this to be strange. I started doing some research and found out that some people have gotten higher capacity drives to work properly with this NVR with a firmware update. I updated the firmware and reformatted the drive and the full 18TB showed up as a mounted drive.Overall I’m very happy with the NVR and I will continue to use Amcrest products in the future!

Very good features for the price I do recommend a high terabyte for your hard drive at least 6 and N VR is packed with features and it is user friendly I would highly recommend this N VR they make a very good product

Started out great I set it up with a security specific HD for camera dvrs nvrs. No issues whatsoever, then my mouse failed after about a month ok no problem I'll just get a new one then it stopped seeing the mouse. I have 2 amcrest PTZ cameras one 32x and the other I can't remember the zoom anywho the mouse is needed to move the cameras. Then after a couple months I had an issue someone broke into my car went to view recordings and the HD was empty no recordings found except for 1 camera. Wth so I checked my configurations and all had 24 hr motion detection recording set. So to be safe I copied the config for the one camera that was being recorded to all other cameras. After a few days I checked the system and only one camera was being recorded. Called customer support and they had me do all sorts of steps then tried to tell me that since my internet was through starlink it wasn't compatible? Wait what? How does isp have any influence on recoding of hardwired poe cameras? They couldn't answer and told me I was out of the warranty period and to buy a new nvr. Ok how about this I said I'll just completely change all my camera systems from amcrest to a competitor the support said fine with us. That is the craziest thing I have ever heard of. My house my parents and my sisters houses all have amcrest thanks to me and each has a minimum of 12 cameras including the amcrest door cameras. We all live on acreage of land. I am glad to hear amcrest is willing to loose faithful customers due to an employee who is rude and doesn't care. All over a nvr not functioning like it should.If amcrest is able to assist and get the issue resolved I will update my review.

Had issues with connecting a camera, after a couple hours of aggravation, I gave uo and called tech support. Gary answered, had me do a few things, he remoted in and had the issue resolved with a few minutes. Great customer service

The media could not be loaded. Amcrest makes the best NVR’s out there. I love using Anest NVR and I used to use their NVR’s for different cameras! I only recommend Amcrest NVR. I know exactly what I’m talking about because I installed cameras for everybody and this review I’m not paid for.

Need to replaced atom working, costumer service out US language is very bad, need some software update
