Bump Patrol Extra-Strength Aftershave is the irreplaceable tool in my fight against ingrown hairs. While no product I've found prevents ingrown hairs when I use foil or Bic-style razors, Bump Patrol is undefeated when I shave my face and head with clippers. Although labeled Extra-Strength, the product is relatively mild. I could not recommend a product more than this one. It has not failed me in over ten years. I recommend adding Bump Patrol Pre-shave Oil to your shaving routine.

This review is my personal view and no one else's. I'm writing this targeting men of colour such as myself who have been suffering with ingrown hair and razor bumps forever without a solution. I have been suffering with ingrown hair and razor bumps since I was 17 years old. I am almost 45 now. I have tried every option possible within my lifetime but have never gotten the results provided by the bump patrol brand. Prior to using bump patrol products I'd have never dared applying a razor to my face as I will be good for one day but two days later I'd pay dearly for my choice. It's been two weeks now since I began using a safety razor along with the bump patrol products and not one razor bump has been experienced. I usually wash my face first with an invigorating face wash, apply bump patrol pre-shave oil them apply bump patrol cool shave gel before applying my safety razor. On completion I rinse my face with hot water, dry then apply bump patrol max strength after-shave treatment. To date no issues. As I said I'm speaking about my experience. Hope my review helps other persons such as myself who have been suffering with this issue for a long time with no avail.

I found this stuff a few years back at the local big chain drug store. They stopped carrying it so I was thrilled to find it at Amazon! First they doubled the size of the bottle from 2 to 4 ounces which is great. Bump Patrol is a must for men who are prone to razor bumps after shaving. I have very course beard hair that likes to do a "180" right after growing. No more needles or tweezers needed! I do get the occasional ingrown hair that requires a little intervention, but not nearly as bad as it would be without the Bump Patrol. Just a small amount after shaving is all it takes! Does it burn you ask?? Well yes it does a bit (your putting alcohol and salicylic acid on your face after a shave.. duh...). I have totally gotten used to the sensation as I think most guys will. It's no worse than standard aftershave on your face, but this has other things in it to soothe as well.

While shaving with this product I realized that it actually allows you to shave in pure comfort. My razor glided effortlessly over my face. Re lathering for a second time was a breeze. Upon close inspection, no cuts or burns. Great product!
