Great upgrade to wireless mouse and keyboard
If you wondering about whether to spend the money for this combo mouse and keyboard, you won't regret it. It is a serious upgrade from the Logitech wireless mouse and wired keyboard I had before. A range of 30 feet is accurate. I originally purchased one from Costco about a year ago to use with my home laptop and liked it so much I purchased one for my oldest son. I have since purchsed two more from Amazon (Costco doesn't it carry them anymore)--one for my business laptop and one for my wife's desktop. The Amazon price was competitive with Costco with free shipping and no sales tax. My son and I like to play online poker and there is nothing better than being able to sit on our COMFORTABLE sofas using a wall-mounted LCD TV as a monitor, and not have to sit at a desk for 2-3 hours. That puts me about 15 feet away from my laptop and there are no problems at all--no pausing of the cursor, delayed clicking or anything like that. I've checked them both at 30 feet and still no issues. I wouldn't have thought there could be much difference in the feel of the mouse and keyboard, but I was wrong. They are both so comfortable and smooth operating you will really appreciate the difference. The mouse has a great feature that allows you to magnify the computer/TV screen with a thumb click which is great when you're sitting away from your TV and want a close up view of a specific area of your screen. It's like looking through a magnifying glass. I believe it's a 3X magnification (older eyes can appreciate this :-)). The multiple controls and shortcuts on the keyboard are handy and very functional. The keyboard also has a magnifier that can make the entire image on the screen larger or you can make it as small as you want--either way. I HIGHLY recommend this product, and you can't go wrong with the cost from Amazon.

Works like a charm for me
I have suffered on and off from wrist pains since 2007 and I think I have tried more ergonomically engineering keyboards and mice than most average users have. The type of things I have tried range from track balls to split keyboard. In 2011, I decided to give this keyboard and mouse a try and I am very happy to have made this decision. The biggest issue for my wrists has been the mouse (even track balls did not work for me) and I love the ergonomic design of this mouse. The keyboard is also very easy to use and I am happy with its performance. In terms of connectivity, I am by and large satisfied with it. Every once in a while (say once every 4-6 weeks or so), the system would lose connectivity and I would have to restart my system. But once I do that, it comes right back on and stays on.In terms of battery life, I don't recall that being a big issue. I might have changed the batteries a few times in the last 3 years or so, but certainly nothing at a level that it would make me remember how many times I have changed them. All in all, I think I would be buying this product again if my current one breaks (and MS still makes this one :)

Horrible design choices
I ordered this product on Amazon less than a year ago and am already replacing it. Not sure how much ergonomic research actually went into the designing of this product. It's more likely that they just came up with a design that looked cool rather than one that actually fit well with the human hand.KEYBOARD PROS:* It's wireless. That's pretty much it.KEYBOARD CONS:* The keyboard is much larger than it needs to be, due to the extra space wasted on keys you will NEVER use and the superfluous "palm rest". If you have limited space to work with and also need to have multiple books on your desk for studying, this enormous keyboard will prevent that.* I bought this keyboard because I thought its "ergonomic" design was intended to enable optimal typing speed, but it actually makes me type slower. All the keys are different sizes, some are awkward to reach, and in general its just a very awkward typing experience. The keys are spaced in such a manner that makes it less than optimal for your fingers to naturally type.* The WINDOWS button is overemphasized and keys that you will frequently need and use, such as the ESCAPE key and the CTRL key, are very tiny and hard to reach from a natural typing position.* The F1 thru F12 keys never worked correctly (I'm on Windows 7).MOUSE PROS:* It's wireless. That's literally the only thing that's better about this mouse than the old clunker in a box in my basement.MOUSE CONS:* At first glance, the shape of this mouse makes it appear to be designed to fit perfectly to your hand. DON'T BE FOOLED! Holding this thing is actually very awkward and if you use it for more than an hour it actually becomes somewhat painful, particularly in your thumb which is forced (by the bad design) hang under your hand at almost a ninety degree angle. Whoever designed this mouse must have been playing a bad prank.* The absolute worst thing about this mouse is the scroll function. Lots of times it will stop working, most often when I am trying to scroll up several pages in MS Word or several revolutions on a web page. At first I thought it was getting physically stuck--but the scroller wheel itself is still turning, only you make no progress on the screen. Its as if you've reached the top of the page when you really haven't And then the only way to get it to scroll past that point is to either scroll down first and then scroll back up through it, or to use the side bar--which completely defeats the purpose of having a convenient scroll function in the first place.* There is no tactile or noise feedback on the scroll function. On the other hand, the Right/Left click is unusually loud. I think if I was in a dorm and had a roommate who was trying to sleep it would keep him awake.* The two buttons on the right hand side of the mouse are unnecessary. One of them zooms and one of them is the equivalent of hitting the "Back" button on a web browser. It is very easy to accidentally click on them at the wrong time while trying to make your thumb more comfortable. If that happens at the wrong time, it will completely screw up what you're trying to do. For instance, if you accidentally click on them while composing an email message or a message on website such as Facebook, it will take you back a page and then when you scroll forward again everything you've typed is gone and you have to start all over.Basically, I can think of no reason to recommend this product. I take that back--I would recommend it to a rival or competitor of mine in a shady attempt to make him become less productive!

Keyboard is good but the mouse is so uncomfortable and hurt my pinky
I had been using model 6000 but v.2 for four years. Lately the connectivity was not going well so I bought this one. It's model 6000 too but v.3. I thought should be upgraded better. Both keyboard and mouse are lighter than v.2 (I don't want to say because the quality is cheaper). The keyboard is very quiet when typing. Connectivity is OK (still new for sure) but the mouse is REALLY uncomfortable. It even hurt my pinky because the edge of the mouse is pretty sharp (not smooth enough) and it's smaller than old one. It fits my hands because I have very small/skinny hands - not sure if big guy would like it. Kind of disappointed in the performance of the mouse, keyboard is good though.
