This is a great product if your water softener system includes on of those giant blue filters. 30 micron is the way to go and Pentair is a known brand. Anything more is probably overkill for most people's water treatment system. This was my first time replacing my filter and I would tell anyone that you can totally do this yourself!! Cut off the water to both sides of the filter housing. Press the red button on the filter housing to release the pressure. Use your plastic filter wrench to unscrew the filter housing. Be a little careful and use two hands to do the final unscrewing as the housing can be a little heavy with the water inside. Pop in the new filter and voila! You just saved yourself a $250 service call. Highly recommend. Good filter!

we have a well and use this filter as a pre-filter before the softening tank and before a carbon filter. it certainly does it's job and traps particles from the well that would otherwise pass though. easy to change.

Due to long drought my water well is pumping up fine brownish water. Installed a whole house filter using a 50 micron filter. The water was somewhat better but still undrinkable. Got a 30 micron and that cleared the water to sparkling clear! I'm happy now

fits my water well perfect and the filter is cheaper on Amazon.
