Great handheld!
The Miyoo Mini Plus is great little machine! There are plenty of positive reviews on gaming sites for in-depth details. One thing that isn’t often mentioned is the white and grey models have a nice matte finish that feels good to the touch.

Definitely worth the money!
Amazing console. Does take a little know how or at least the ability to follow some YouTube tutorials to get it set up. Set up onion OS on it and it runs like a dream. The graphics on the screen is nice and crispy.

Great cheap emulation handheld from China that costs about 54 dollars
Great cheap emulation handheld from China that costs about 54 dollars, I discovered this product probably the same way most others found out about it via retro game tech channels like Techdweeb on Youtube. Below I will just list the positives and negatives I think this device has starting with the negatives.Negatives:- This handheld does not have a Real-Time Clock (RTC)I am going to guess a lot of people will buy this handheld to play Pokemon ROMS, the problem with the handheld not having a RTC means you won't be able to do certain in game events that are connected to time in real life in certain games. In some of the Pokemon games some of the Pokemon are only catch-able at certain times of the day and its connected to whatever time you set its in-game clock which progresses in real time hours. The only game that I can think of that does actually absolutely need RTC is something like Animal Crossing on the DS. The Miyoo Mini Plus does try to fix this issue in two ways, one is either by setting up an option within the Miyoo Mini where I think either if you turn off your handheld or reset your ROM your game will progress a certain number of hours forward. By default the Miyoo is set to progress 4 real time hours ahead, this can be changed to be between 1 to 24 hours. So if you were playing Animal Crossing DS on like 6/17/25 at 2PM and stopped playing and then returned back to the game a week later, if the time to progress was left on default the games in game time would be 6/17/25 6PM. The other option in getting around not having a built-in RTC that the Miyoo has is you can connect the Miyoo to the internet which will progress your games with RTC normally. The problem with that is maybe you don't have a strong internet connection in your household and maybe your internet goes out a lot, my issue with this is actually part of my other negative for this handheld which is listed below on why I can't connect to the internet very well with this handheld. Also fyi if you are running a ROM on this device that has RTC, if it keeps crashing at certain points in the game try to update the time on the Miyoo Mini. I once tried playing Pokemon White on it and it would keep crashing when I tried to leave the house in the beginning of the game. I eventually found a reddit thread from someone who had the same issue and the solution was to update the time on the Miyoo cause if the date is too old it will crash RTC games.- This handheld does not support 5 ghz wifiThe Miyoo Mini Plus only supports 2.4 ghz wifi which I personally do not have a very strong connection to that wireless frequency but I am fine with 5 ghz wifi which sadly it does not support. One of the reasons why I bought this handheld was so I can obtain RetroAchievements which requires me to be connected to the internet, but it's fine I guess I will just stick to my Steam Deck if I want to do that for certain retro games.- The adhesive that is holding the screen to the device is poor apparently and might eventually peel and fall offI have seen screenshots of people posting of the screens of their Miyoos peeling off or the screen came off and got damaged when they finally got it in the mail. Apparently the adhesive they used to keep the screen attached is of poor quality and might eventually come off the more you use the system due to heat. I heard from a reviewer on Youtube that he once dropped the Miyoo by accident and the screen came out. From what I heard it might not be that big of a deal if it does happen to you, all you have to do is just reattach the screen with a much stronger adhesive and it will work fine. Personally I have had my Miyoo for like a couple months and it's still fine.- The default operating system is poor and you will need to upgrade to a better OS made by fans called OnionOSThe OnionOS provides more features and improves the Miyoo by a significant amount such as better battery life management and the ability to play other emulators such as Nintendo DS games which with the default OS you can't. Upgrading to the new operating system is not very hard and is very easy if you follow a tutorial on Youtube. However you will need to buy a new SD card and a new SD card reader because the ones that comes bundled with the Miyoo are crap and if you try to upgrade to the new OS with those it might brick your device. I recommend a 256 gb SanDisk SD card which is a good branded SD card and you can put A LOT of retro games this system supports and its only like 20 dollars.Positives:- It's cheap and plays a good variety of emulators up to PS1 and even NDSThis device is perfect for the systems its able to emulate such as the SNES, Genesis, Arcade games, and the various handhelds Nintendo made. The highest end of emulation the Miyoo can do is the PS1 which works fantastic for that console. The PS1 originally did not have a controller that had analogue sticks just a d-pad only so the overwhelming amount of games on the PS1 are programmed to work with just the d-pad in mind in case people didn't have the analogue controller. The only PS1 game that requires analogue sticks that I can think of is Ape Escape so the Miyoo has enough buttons to play PS1 just fine.- This handheld ACTUALLY is portable and still comfortable to playOne of my major problems with the Steam Deck is that I find it to be very big for a handheld gaming device. One of the reasons to get a portable gaming device is so that you can play it anywhere you want and one of the key factors I find for handhelds is if you can put it in your pocket. Nearly every gaming handheld I had in my life was small enough to be put in your pants pocket, probably because the designers kept that in mind when designing their products so it's easy to carry around. The Miyoo Mini Plus is tiny and can easily go in your pocket and be taken anywhere. I have large hands and the Miyoo Mini Plus is still very comfortable to play for me.- It looks like a cute DMG-01 model GameboyI of course bought the grey colored Miyoo with purple buttons, if I am going to buy a portable emulation hand held that plays retro games for me personally if it looked like a retro gaming handheld and especially if its the iconic original Gameboy its an absolute plus for me.- You can obtain RetroAchievements on this handheldIf you don't know what RetroAchievements is basically its a website where you can set certain emulators like RetroArch to connect to this website where it has achievements made up by its community. They are fun to obtain granted you don't need little pop ups to enjoy a game to tell you that you achieved doing something. I wanted to gain some retroachievements for various games that I have completed innumerous amounts of times so that I have more replay-ability.- Battery life is decent when you upgrade to OnionOSFor me personally my battery lasts I think around 6-7 hours which is what is advertised and its a good amount of time for gaming sessions.Small insignificant complaint I have that doesn't really matter:- I would have really loved it if this device could play Sega Saturn which it has enough buttons for and would be perfect if it could and the Saturn is imo a very underrated console. I do understand why it does not, from what I heard apparently Sega Saturn emulation is pretty demanding and some other emulation handhelds that are more expensive than the Miyoo struggle trying to emulate it. Part of the reason why from what I understand might be because the Saturn is notorious for how strong its anti piracy was, it wasn't cracked until around 20 years later of the consoles release so emulating games from it will be demanding. If you do decide to get this device I hope it arrives to you in good condition and happy gaming!

Great device ; poor quality control.
Screen bleed issues appear to be a common problem with this device . Buttons felt great but the extra light shining through the tape became to be a problem

Best nostalgic bang for your buck!
This is such a great little device, I really can't say enough good about it. You can play anything up to ps1 on here and add in your own games as well. I mainly got it for snes and gb/c/a games and it is perfect for them. The screen is amazing for something so small.its bright and has great colors. Good size for pocket portability, but I recommend getting a carry case for it so it won't get damaged. Get a brand name sd card to use instead of what comes with it, as with all retro handhelds. It will save you a headache. Stock os is decent, but onion is king for the system. So much more you can do with it, as well as a MUCH better layout for everything. Tldr: small but perfect size, best value for $$, hours of fun
