I bought this last year and am very satisfied.The owners manual could be better...but I would imagine that to be the case with most music players.I am a devout Old School Dinosaur....listen to Motown, Philly, Disco and blue eyed soul. This is perfect for that...and it plays loud and clear!!! I don't even have to use the equalizer...sounds great as is!!I had also purchased an expensive ($650) Fiio player to compare it to. Never got to the music. The Fiio had a card tray for the SD card that was poorly designed. Couldn't figure it out and had read reviews that mentioned many flaws with the software. Sent it back. If they are too stupid to design things right....you get the picture.This Hiby is GREAT!!! And at the price...you can't beat it!!!

This is a very cool DAP Its snappy and familiar with an Android operating system, you can install your own apps customize to make a great experience. Its filled with sound options and powerful audio chips. It sounds very neutral by default but very detailed. I really like it. Battery drains a little quick, but that's about the same for all the DAPs on the market. This is probably the coolest and best DAP around this price range.

Everyone is writing reviews on how user friendly the device is. First off the item does seem sturdy but very bulky. The descriptions do not match the item's features what so ever. I connected it to my lap top and it does not show any folders of the R4 in the compute when trying to transfer over files. It does not come with an SD card, so maybe that is only the option to have files on the R4 is by purchasing an SD card and inserting it with your date. When you turn on the R4 you will see that there are internal folders but you cannot view them from the PC. The instruction book does not give any information on how media is transferred over and could not find a tutorial video on how to with the R4. Just people talking about the sound quality, battery life and thickness. Shortly after receiving the item, I quickly gave up on looking for information, requested for a full refund for which I am still waiting on and with a more reliable product.

Sounds fine, nice little DAP for the price point, only thing im going to complain about is the glass. Ive had this for 5 days and the screen already has a decent sized scratch and a bunch of smaller ones from i don’t know what. I take good care of my devices i dont know where this came from. If you get one, it sounds amazing but you need to make sure you baby it.Also the included screen protector is cheap plastic, and theres no alignment bracket, due to the oblong screen its nearly impossible to install.2 stars for the sound, 3 stars removed for the subpar screen and screen protector.Edit 3/8/25Added 2 stars because this little device does really sound good and because customer support reached out and at least attempted to help. I bought a 6 pack of screen protectors and it works great. If you do get this, i have had no issues with battery life or heat as some people claim. It gets slightly warm when running my 80 ohm cans but nothing excessive. Its a good product, just get a screen protector because the screen genuinely is weak. You WILL not install the included screen protector on the first try. I would recommend Hiby either include more screen protectors or an alignment bracket.

This thing is so cool looking! It's my 2nd audio player ever after the Hiby r3 II, battery life is so much longer as it should be, audio def feels like a good upgrade with plenty of room for augmenting the audio with pluggins and the hiby player app. Bluetooth is fairly reliable in my experience, haven't had any overheating issues yet luckily and I'm not giving this thing up for a long time. Its so cool looking, it gives ZZZ tech vibes.

It is fantastic, but the instructions to get it all setup are not clear. We googled and watched YouTube to figure it out. Sounds great, very functional, and is great for organizing.

for what you get on the price of these unit units I don’t think you should be asking for moreAndroid with Wi-Fi and streaming app compatibility..checkBalanced and 3.5 headphone jack options… checkQuality, weight, and design.. checkDSD playback… check.Basically you get a high-quality player at a great price. The only thing that could be approved upon would be a user replaceable battery..a screen protector is also pre-installed all you have to do is rip off the peel.The android driver stack for the audio drivers for the DAC are very well integrated, and support supported.It’s all in the box except for headphonesyou are actually getting caviar here on a hot dog budget compared to other players.
