I watched a lot of YouTube videos on various bluetooth speakers around this size range. Most agreed that while the sound quality is good, the bass is not as powerful as some of its competitors. That suited me as although I like bass, I don't like it overpowering. You can give the bass a boost with the ULT button if you desire and it certainly is noticeable. I'm certainly not an audiophile, but I do appreciate good sound quality and in my opinion, these speakers deliver.I decided to buy 2 of them as I read they can be linked using the Sony Music Centre app for stereo sound. It was easy to set this up with the app and the results are great. I connected them to my TV and it sounds so much better than just coming through the TV. Being portable you can space them far apart for a better experience. They also link to my turntable, phone, and iPad with no problem.They feel quality, look quality, and sound quality. Can't go wrong with Sony.

Good quality design , very good sound very crisp and no distortion at max volume. Bit heavy and big but thank god it comes with a strap . Good bass too

EXCELLENT! For a portable speaker this packs a punch. The bass is incredible on this, you can have it loud if you want it with no loss of quality. Could not recommend this enough - and small enough to take on holiday. Handy rope handle means I can move it round the house with me too. Easy to connect to your device. Battery life is decent.

Hard not to give it five stars but only because it does what you'd think it should do and it's priced about right. Let's be clear though, It doesn't sound great - it sounds sort of ok. It sounds very similarly 'sort of ok' to the JBL Flip 6. If you are struggling to chose between these two - by whichever is on offer - they are both 'meh'.You can watch as many YouTube videos as you want spouting audiophile nonsense phrases about the subtle nuances that separate this class of speaker. They sound just ok. Perfect for the beach or the pool (why I own mine) but a single HomePod mini at £89 leaves it for dust - but obviously isn't portable. 4 stars - it does what its supposed to - just don't expect it be very good.

This is a nice Bluetooth speaker with a USB-C for charging the speaker and for charging your phone if needs be. I have played various music on it at medium volume (Pearl Jam, Dylan, Afro Man...) and the sound quality is good. I recommend leaving the factory settings and not adjusting the sound via the Sony app. You don't need the app to run this speaker - you can connect directly to your phone to play music. I also like the rope handle for carrying the speaker - very cool.I think for the price, this is a good option and you won't be disappointed unless you really want to crank up the volume and play heavy metal music or something like that. In which case, you should look for a more expensive Bluetooth and larger speaker if you want it for larger parties. This unit is fine for providing plenty of sound for a single room.All in all, I am happy with this purchase and can recommend it.

Incredible speaker, the sound sounds really good and is a much better choice than competitors such as the JBL Flip 5/6 in my opinion. Battery life is also really good, I have only charged it once in the past week after daily 8h use even then only at 20%. Waterproofing works really well and the cover over the charging port (type c) has shown no signs of letting in water despite use in the shower and rain. Highly recommend this product :)

This speaker is excellent. Love the look of it. It has a rubberised coating on it which will be beneficial if its dropped and for wet weather outside. Opened the box had a quick look and my phone was connected inside a minute, such easy connectivity. Once connected the speaker has a good quality of sound even when the volume is turned up.I'm so glad that I choose this particular speaker in the end and would recommend it to anyone. Maybe not the cheapest in its range but you get what you pay for.

Absolutely fantastic bought it as a gift and it’s a proper speaker fills a room and the bass is fantastic highs tones super too.wish I bought it for myself
