I bought this for my elderly cousin to help him continue working on his balance after he was released from physical therapy. This was the same product, my cousin used at therapy. It has helped him strengthen his ankles and lessen the weakness in his feet. The size is great in that it can slide under most couches when not in use. Working on balance for just ten minutes or whatever was prescribed per day sure can build confidence and better functionality when walking and standing. I have noticed better balance when my cousin is walking or getting in or out of a chair. To me, this blue sponge-like square is sturdy, easy to wipe clean, will wear very well, and is a great value for the money. This would make a fantastic holiday gift for someone you love who may want to practice balance. Exercises are on the internet or their medical provider can prescribe.
