Excellent Practical Sailing Gift! :)
I purchased these for a Father's Day gift. Because my mom and her husband just bought a yacht, and I wanted to get them something practical and useful. Not just some kitschi gift that they would probably not even keep....well-this was such a hit. I included some metal binder rings too, and got a variety of different kinds of these, one was about different sailing knots, so neat! So they have lots of different ones to flip through and these will be the gift that keeps on giving for years to come, it's very practical. Such a neat and thoughtful gift, and yeah, for the value, it's a really great price, too. You can get just one or two or as many as you think would be relevant to them and create a flip book like i did. These are laminated and waterproof as well.So that you don't have to worry about getting them ruined if they get wet. Love! Would definitely recommend. :)

Great reference material
I'm an artist who incorporates code into many of my pieces, so I love having both the maritime flag alphabet and morse code in one durable, easy-to-use reference. I keep it in my binder so I know exactly where to find it when I need it.

Great reference for boaters especially since they are waterproof!
These cards far exceeded my expectations. I am a glass fuser....as a hobby. I needed these cards to show me how to make nautical flags using fused glass. Simple as that.

Excellent nautical code quick reference
I find it very useful to know the military phonetic alphabet in many situations. Lots of people are familiar with this phonetic alphabet (though variations - usually less clear - are often used by police forces for some silly reason), so if you're spelling a name or address over the phone, you don't have to make up random words that start with a particular letter on the fly. I verified that the words on this reference sheet match up perfectly with the official military version. Not only is the military alphabet detailed very clearly on this sheet, the numbers are, too. This only matters because military folks say "niner" instead of "nine".On top of the phonetic alphabet, next to each letter is the Morse code and flag semaphore expression for the letters. It also has, on the same page, the Morse code punctuation. I never knew how to punctuate in Morse code before I saw this sheet! On the opposite side of the reference sheet, all the specialized flags used to communicate simple expressions or individual letters are shown with their meanings. I have visited a couple of battleships and a carrier that had these kinds of flags strung up, and I always wanted to know what they were saying. Now I can translate! The reference sheet is very thick, sturdy plastic with three holes for binder storage. It is water-proof and probably somewhat physical abuse-proof. This is worlds better than the laminated reference sheets you find at office supply stores.Overall, I really like this nautical code reference sheet. Lots of useful info is packed into it, and it's very readable and robust. Highly recommended!
