I got this after I had purchased. a cheaper version and it didn’t work. This product felt much chunkier, robust, and with the usb-c lead too faster. Well worth paying a little more….you get what you pay for after all. Brilliant and just the job.

I was really in need and looking forward to using this CF reader as it was priced well and had positive reviews. We run a small production company and have used it for the past couple of months. I am disappointed that it fails to connect to various Mac books and desktop Mac's I have. It is unfortunately very finicky and not study. I wouldn't recommend this for serious professionals looking for something sturdy and reliable.

This is a good CF card reader

Good performance of this device, convenient and speedy transfers, no additional software needed, I like the speed that I get in transfer from the card to the computer, so far I have transferred images several times no problems whatsoever, much faster than my other name brand reader.

CFexpress Type B Card ReaderFirst Memory sticks and XD cards, then CF, then SD, then SDHD - and now the newer cameras run on CFexpress cards....but wait for it, those come in type a, B and C-variants!If you have a Sony A7S III, Canon EOS R5, Nikon Z6 and Z7, or a Canon EOS C500 Mark II video camera then you will be needing one of these devices that allow CFexpress Type B Cards to upload to your computer to process the pictures.Up until now I have got the photos off my camera by plugging the camera in to my MacBook and using the Canon software. I shoot stills, lots of them, but not videos - so I am downloading multiple files of approx. 45MB size each. This works well but takes time - and the camera can't be used as downloading takes place.In use I found.....- This device worked as advertised - it downloaded pictures and video at good speeds (faster than direct camera to computer downloads) and none of my downloads were corrupted when I opened them.- with two CFexpress cards I can be shooting on one while at the same time a colleague downloads the other using this device. This saves a lot of time.My card fitted well into this - this is crucial as CFexpress cards cost from from £200 for 80GB and you really do not want a broken contact pin - as happens with many cheap CF card readers. Build is all metal.Overall - I am happy - It is faster than plugging the camera in to my MacBook and using the Canon software. While having 2 CF-Ex cards to swop between speeds my workflow.Note - If you shoot long video clips, look to see if another reviewer has tried downoading big single files. A Canon R5 video files with Raw capture of its 8K/30p footage can be very big !
