Ticks all the boxes.

A fantastic smartphone that offers a great balance of speed, efficiency, and battery life - however, the battery with its small capacity is definitely the weakest point of this phone. It has a gorgeous 6.2-inch display, a powerful Tensor G3 chip and a camera that consistently takes stunning photos - It may not have a fancy lenses from Leica but the software behind the photo processing is incredible and the results are fantastic. The 8 is also incredibly secure, with a robust security system that will keep your personal data safe. I'm confident that my information is well-protected when I'm using this phone. I have switched from Xiaomi 13 and the switch itself was a breeze - initially its doable over the wifi, but the content transfer (photos, videos, etc) been done via the usb-c cable, as you can see at the attached photo. I've noticed, the phone gets a mixed reviews but it may come from the fact, that people don't know how to use all the features. Personally I think it one of the best phones currently available, may compete with the flagships but costs a fraction. The only downsides are the smaller battery and slower charging speed, but these are minor issues compared to the Pixel 8's overall 'awesomeness'. If you're looking for an android smartphone that doesn't mess around, the Google Pixel 8 is the way to go.

Nice replacement for my pixel 7

Bought as a Christmas Present for my wife

A good phone, once you get past the tricky gesture controls that it ships with, which are difficult to master if you've been used to the standard Android, three-button control regime. More cost effective than some of the competition and has a good camera setup.

Amazing spec phone

I've always bought my own phones and always used PAYG sim cards. Because of those and often because of the extortionate prices of some phones I've always kept with the budget price phones. At best a mid range like my previous honor magic 5a phone.Let me just say I'm so glad I took a risk on the pixel. The phone itself is stunning, really well built. The camera and the AI tools are phenomenal and I find myself using the camera just because it's fun. The UI is smooth and responsive and the OLED screen is crystal clear.Other features like wireless charging and Google assistant are really nice, and add a premium touch. The only thing that seems inferior is battery life. The battery on the pixel 8 will still last you 24 hours or more but I was spoiled by the honor having a 2 day battery with mid usage.

GOOD

First time using Google phone, bought used but it looks new and so far I haven't had any trouble with the phone. Seems to work well. Very affordable, camera is also good considering the price and over just good. I wish it came with a charger not just the cable. Recommended 👍

Please enjoy this HD photo I took on my super advanced camera

I can see why this phone got good reviews. On the standard tests it performs well, it is just awful in a whole range of creative ways reviewers hand never thought of.The high resolution camera does exist, but the auto focus feature that we have all come to take for granted is so poor that you just get a high resolution images of a blurr that was meant to be your concert pic. It randomly takes mini videos, rather than a stable pictures. This happens unpredictably and cannot be turned off. This is meant to be a 'best take' feature, but all of the frames are low quality and out of focus. Why have this feature then? Well, the videos are data hungry. This means they take up more storage space on the cloud, which I have to then pay Google for. It's peretty genius from a Google shareholders point of view. The root of the problem is it is designed to capture as much data as possible for Google to feed into its AI first, and be a phone second. For example, it does it's primary function of being a phone poorly. I have testsled a variety of sim cards and phones, my pixel has consistently less network connectivity than iPhone or Samsung. I can loose signal in central London. It's like living in the 1980s without disco culture or cheap European holidays. This would not be such an issue if it weren't such a data hungry piggy of a device. Everything is stored in the cloud so Google can scrape my data, which means I have to download everything over and over again. There isn't even a photo gallery app on the phone, I have to download every single image every time I want to scroll though old photos. I take douzens of photos a week for work, so I have to pray every time I need to pull one that I have enough connectivity to access Google cloud, which I never do. Google has full access to my data, but I don't.The whole phone is set up so that you can access nothing offline. The simple act of downloading a PDF requires the patience of a highly trained yoghi combined with a computer science degree. Once you have coaxed your tiny piece personal data onto your device god help you open it, save it, or store it without reuploding to a cloud based program. You would think all this cloud computing would have left you with lots of free space and a super fast phone. You would be wrong. It often takes my brand new phone up to three seconds to open an app despite the fact the memory is all but empty. This is an activity usually measured in micro seconds, which for reference is 0.001 of a second. A Google pixel is literally thousands of times slower than my last phone which is now six years old. I asked the Google help about this. They said I could send it away and might (might) get my fixed phone back two weeks later. I asked what I was meant to do for two weeks while this happened because -like most people -I need my phone for work. They suggested I take annual leave. This of course doesn't cover the possibility that my brand new phone isn't broken, it's doing exactly what is was designed to do, which is provided the maximum value to Google and the bare minimum to me. Save your money, buy anything else instead.

a HUGE upgrade

I bought the Google Pixel 8 for my partner as a gift, and it's been a huge upgrade from their old phone — truly leagues ahead in every way. The performance is incredibly smooth, the camera is sharp and vibrant, and the overall user experience has been flawless so far. I was lucky to catch it on a deal, but honestly, I would still be happy paying full price for the quality you get. I currently use an iPhone 13, and after seeing how well this phone runs, I’m seriously considering switching to the Pixel 8 or maybe the upcoming 9 Pro. Google really nailed it with this one!

Small but better

Ok, just got this and had to charge it as there was no charge, anyway apart from that it was sooo easy to set up,from moving data etc from my p6,yep it's smaller & lighter but it's a huge improvement on the p6 (swollen battery twice and screen lifting) at the moment very pleased with it! Will update if anything changes in the future
