Well built, get extension for 5' beds
Using the Long Arm to carry 11-16' Kayaks in 2019 Ranger with 5' Bed. The 42" Long arm helps but the extension (Additional 28+") needed to hold the longer kayaks. Makes it more steady for long trips. Is very solid design adding the extra length still feels tight & tough. Best unique feature is the adjustable levels: I can use it with open bed or move it up when I use truck bed rail racks. Not inexpensive but not cheaply made and I feel comfortable using on 10+ hour trips.

works well
Have four kayak 2 - 14' and 2 - 12'. 2 sit on top and 2 sit in. Transport kayaks in a 6 1/2 foot bed. The bed extension work great. The unit is light weight and sturdy. It is well made, nice welds and coating. Wanted to purchase a yakima lock for the unit but too many bad reviews review. I detach the unit when I'm in isolated areas or use steel cables to secure the unit and the kayaks I am using that day.

Light, secure, fast
Works great for our kayaks. Hooked up to a Honda Ridgeline and holds our 11.5 ft and 9.5 ft kayaks perfectly. Made loading, securing, and unloading so much faster. People with roof racks always look over surprised how much faster we get in and out of the water than they do :) it’s very light weight, hung on garage wall with two hooks from Lowe’s.

A Versatile Unit
I bought this unit as it was originally listed by Ford as the accessory for my new Maverick. I was disappointed that you can’t put the tailgate all the way down flat and have the unit in place the bracket sits too high. Fortunately the Maverick had two tailgate setting so it will still work. I just have to be careful lest I damage my truck after inserting the unit in the receiver. I was also disappointed that I would have to spend another 80 bucks for an extension to allow for use with rooftop rack. But I’m gonna go with it. It has enough positives to still make it useful although it is quite a bit more expensive than others.

Does what is designed to do
Held 2 12ft kayaks on a 6.5ft bed going hwy speed. It's all aluminum besides the bolts. Would have wished the hitch part was steel. But it works for what I needed it for.

Does it’s job — a little “off” though
I got this attachment to haul my 12.5’ kayak, since my truck bed is only 5.5’ in length. It does provide some peace of mind now when hauling my kayak, however I was a little disappointed with the fit. Trying multiple configurations/adjustments, I could NOT get it to line up just right with my truck bed (2006 Ford F-150). Also in the extended config, mine has a very noticeable slant, so that if I was to haul a kayak on the left side of the bed, it would not make contact with the extension bar at all. The right side does make contact. Had I wanted a more permanent style carrier, I probably would have gone with a ladder rack style that mounts in the stake pockets of the bed rails. Overall though, it’s an okay attachment for my needs.

Fit's a specific need
I was looking for a high rack for rear of p/u w/ toneau cover. This fits into hitch keeper and with the extension can be raised to height of roof rack. It can be rotated down to allow opening tailgate.

Super light weight
Light weight & I no longer worry about scrapping the bottom like I would with the old straight bed extender looks sharp
