If Management as discipline has played a significant role in the last 100 years, HBR has been the beacon and repository of articles written by the brightest minds to shape this profession. Its consistency, academic rigor and choice of articles are second to none. This book is a collection of the most influential and innovative articles published in HBR’s first century, as aptly printed on the cover of this book.Personally, reading this was like a rapid MBA, with nostalgic memories of B-School curriculum, with names of great management gurus like Peter Drucker, Daniel Goleman, Theodore Levitt and CK Prahalad, to whom I am eternally grateful. The best part of this education is that it is only the beginning, since management thinking is continuously evolving and concepts like Disruptive Innovation, Design Thinking, Blue Ocean Strategy, Data Sciences, Artificial Intelligence, Knowledge workers, Celebrating Diversity and Climate Change became integral to business strategy in the Twenty First Century. This book is an excellent collection of articles that have laid the foundation, and those that will matter most in shaping the future of tomorrow’s businesses, people and our planet.It is always possible that one might not find his or her favorite article in this collection, but the publishers have done their best to select the topics that matter most. There are thirty articles in total. Statistically, ’30 is a large sample’ to derive meaningful conclusions. On that note, my sincere thanks to HBR for this exemplary collection that has inspired me in ways I cannot put in words.
