Solid, Reliable WiFi 6 Router with a Clean Interface
This is a really nice router, especially at this price point. Setup was straightforward, and the user interface is clean and easy to navigate — whether you're adjusting basic settings or diving into more advanced options. So far, it’s been rock-solid in terms of reliability. Good range, stable connections, and noticeably faster performance compared to my older WiFi 5 router. I haven’t had to reboot or troubleshoot once since installing it.If you're looking for an affordable WiFi 6 upgrade that just works, this is a great choice.

Highly recommend! Easy to set up and use!
Granted, I just got this router in so I can't speak too much on the reliability yet. However, I will say the looks of it is really nice. It's smaller than my prior router (which I will get into in a bit) and the aesthetics is rather nice. Looks like a futuristic device. Setup was easy especially through the ASUS app. I didn't try logging in with a device plugged in until after it was set up, but again, super easy set up that even a beginner/novice can do. Devices connect wirelessly without a problem and I can't wait to test it out throughout the house. What attracted this particular ASUS router to me was the very fact that it said "subscription free." This was attractive because my prior router (which I don't think I'd be allowed to name) stopped working after accidentally unplugging it. I couldn't access it to re-setup my wireless network even after rebooting it and later, trying to reset to factory settings. I called their (the prior router manufacturer) support number for help and they wouldn't even bother unless they charged me $180 - $250 for something they called a "firewall security renewal." This wasn't their "bit defender"/anti-virus thing they have separately. No, they were wanting to charge me for something ridiculous before they would help me. At that point, I just said "Forget it. I'm not paying that! And I'm never buying any of your routers again if that's the kind of business/scheme you're running." They didn't seem to care. I came upon this ASUS router on Amazon. Again, the "subscription free" part was very attractive to say the least. The GUI was by far more pleasing in aesthetics to look at than the other one, and so far I'm happy overall with this new router. It seems to work better and faster than my prior router (which is old, I know) so that should be a given. If you're looking for a hassle free router with hassle free set up? This might be your go-to.

Very reliable and stable router. Perfect Aimesh function.
Have installed 2 of these in two different homes one as primary router and the 2nd as a mesh node. Networks are super stable and reliable. These are not the most powerful Asus routers but they are reliable. Very rarely need restarting and get advertised speeds on both a 300 and 500 internet connection. Have good range to cover over 3000 sq ft as a router/mesh setup. Many security and configuration settings via the web interface. Had a higher end AX-3000 router and had many issues with the 2.4ghz dropping signal. These do not have that issue and work as they should. Recommend

Terrible out of box setup and the UI for the administration page is hideous...
I decided to get this router as a replacement for the TP-Link, compared to the TP-Link this one had a much worse out of box experience. As soon as I plugged everything in, I got the dreaded red WAN light and no connection, I fiddled with it for an hour to no avail. I had my PC connected directly to the router through LAN and still couldn't access the administration page or get a connection. Out of options I decided to try connecting to the unsecured Wi-Fi network using my iPad and magically that worked. OK that's really strange, let's not allow people to access the administration page through a direct LAN connection to the router but let's force them to connect to an unsecured Wi-Fi network and go through the setup on Wi-Fi? Once I got through setup on Wi-Fi, now my PC can magically access the administration page through LAN... amazing. The UI on the administration page is hideous as well, I've owned multiple Asus routers the UI has been the same probably for a decade or more, for whatever reason Asus has no interest in creating a new UI for it. The TP-Link UI looks clean and modern, the Asus UI looks dingy and ugly, it's not just the UI the UX sucks as well; almost every single change you make requires the router to reboot which takes a whole minute, if you're going through it setting it up it becomes infuriating quickly. If the settings in question aren't dependent on each other they should just batch the changes and allow us to save once, or stop putting the settings on different pages.Aside from the terrible UI, UX and setup process, the router does work and I've had no other major issues. I have a ton of devices, probably ten or more and they're spread out across both 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands, on the guest networks and I also have some devices connected directly to the router by LAN, there has never been any disconnects or connection issues on any device. For the devices I game on a PC (LAN) and gaming laptop (Wi-Fi), I stream video through a Fire Stick (Wi-Fi) or iPad (Wi-Fi), I work on a MacBook Pro (Wi-Fi), no lag or any slowness with any of these activities. For the guest Wi-Fi networks: you have up to three guest Wi-Fi networks available for each of the two bands (2.4ghz and 5ghz), six guest networks maximum, you can use up to six, less than six or none at all. Each guest network is independently configurable meaning you can give them their own SSID, own password, own bandwidth limit, etc. The guest networks are different from the regular networks obviously by what you can configure in the settings (SSID, password, bandwidth limit), but also by the fact that devices on the guest networks can't see other devices on the guest or regular networks. If you own a small business you could use the guest networks for customers, limit their bandwidth to only allow them to do light stuff like web browsing and not video streaming, etc. There's also AI stuff to protect from attacks (though I don't care for it) and steady firmware updates. Signal strength and noise are excellent, the four antennas give it plenty of reach all over my apartment (I can even get four bars quite a ways outside of my apartment on 2.4ghz). I liked this router enough to buy a second one for my mother's home. It's a bit pricier than the TP-Link and with a crappier UI, but I'll take it over TP-Link because Asus has a better track record for fixing security vulnerabilities and they aren't about to be banned in the U.S. like TP-Link is...

Works great, simple setup
I needed a new router as my current one was limiting my speed. I had no question about getting an Asus. Every computer I've ever built I've used an Asus motherboard. Very good quality.I read over their directions first to be familiar with it. I chose not to follow the automated setup via the link they give you since I already know how to do it, so I can't comment on the ease of using that. I simply connected the router to my modem and my computer and opened a browser to access the router interface. I reviewed all the settings, without changing much at all. My main pc connects by ethernet since the router sits on top of it. I've also connected a laptop , a pc in another room and my phone all via WIFI with no trouble at all. Great router for a great price! I've had it one month with no problems!
