Perfect for a walk-in clothes closet!
When one of the halogen bulbs in our master closet went out, I looked around and decided to try these. I've used 5000K in my woodworking shop for many years because it makes the colors more realistic, and I figured that would apply to a clothing closet as well, and I'm very happy to report that it does! The light is more widely dispersed than it was from our halogen bulbs, which is also a very good thing for a closet. The open space in our closet between the clothing racks is about 4' x 8' and the overall light level with four of these bulbs replacing four 50W halogen bulbs is roughly the same, but it's so much easier to clearly see the clothes (because of the more even dispersion), and the colors are clearer (because of the 5000K) ... no more carrying a pair of pants into the bathroom to determine whether they are black or dark blue!

Fits, very bright, but beware of glare
This was a perfect fit to replace halogen bulbs in my vent hood. The hood hangs from the ceiling and doesn’t have the same front lip that under cabinet ones have. And probably sits a little higher. The bulbs are visible but that has never been a problem with the halogen. The actual bulb inside is recessed in a floodlight reflector. Not so with these bulbs. The little square LEDs sit right under the glass and the glass is clear. As a result, there is tremendous glare from those LEDs right in my eyes. If you look at the pictures, you can see this. I didn’t pay enough attention to that. In a recessed application or one where the bulb is not visible, these would be fine.I tried to match the LED watts to the 20 watt halogens. These seem much brighter.
