The EDB12TA requires a standard amplifier wiring kit. We recommend VIBE VSAWK8 1500W amp kit. The product does include a hi level input connector to fit to a factory stereo

Q: could i use this connected to a car battery for a bass guitar?

You could connect using RCA input as long as you don’t expect to play anything above 750Hz. It is not a recommended solution due to the amount of distortion that can be created using a guitar. It would be easy to damage the speaker which would not be covered on the warranty.

Q: Is this the speaker or just the enclosure?

This is a complete active enclosure complete with two 12” subwoofers and a mono amplifier built into the ported enclosure.
