What fun!
I have no idea of how this calendar was supposed to be assembled in order to open each window. So I just ripped it open, and luckily saw the instructions. The pieces are great! The characters were easy to assemble, and some of the things are a challenge. I’m enjoying every piece, and would recommend it to any Harry Potter fan. It’s really fun.

Even better than the 2019 advent calendar!
While most people wrote glowing reviews of the 2019 advent calendar, I posted a critical one, emphasizing that it overlapped significantly with the items in the Great Hall set. Given that the 2020 advent calendar overlaps with the Clock Tower/Yule Ball set, you’d think I’d be upset about that—but I’m not. In fact, I’m really excited about the new advent calendar. Here’s why.If you don’t have the Clock Tower set, this is an inexpensive way to get key highlights from the Yule Ball. But even if you own the Clock Tower, as I do, there are still plenty of reasons to want this advent calendar. First and foremost are the three new figures—I’m thrilled to get Lego versions of the Patil twins, and it is nice to have Cho in her Yule dress. While we are also getting repeats of three figures from the Clock Tower, two of those are so delightful—Hermione in her gown and Ron is his hilarious hand-me down—that I’m glad to have extras. As for the duplicate Harry, I’m switching his head to turn him into Roger Davies-- Fleur’s Yule date. That completes all of the Triwizard contestants in their Yule garb and with their dates.I’m also pleased with the other parts of the new advent calendar. The wrapped broom and Yule invitation look great. And most of the other pieces don’t feel redundant with the Clock Tower set. Instead, I think they will become useful additions to that set.Despite my initial misgivings about the 2019 advent calendar, my daughter and I ultimately had a great time opening it. We are now even more excited about the 2020 version.

Received duplicate sets but Lego resolved the issue!
My daughter has been so excited every night to open a new package. Tonight was a major disappointment. She opened #6 and it didn’t match the pieces on the picture. She was hoping it might have been mixed up with another day so she asked me to open the other numbers (she asked me to tape them back up so it would still be a surprise for her) and I figured maybe it wouldbe in #9. Sure enough, the photo for that day matched the pieces she had for day 6, but unfortunately the pieces were the same so she has two matching sets for day 9. She was bummed.Had to update my review. After contacting Lego customer service I was able to send a follow up email and they are sending the day 6 set that we are missing. They just asked for the batch number on the box so they can identify when and where it was packaged. Truly wonderful customer service.

Holiday Hit! Absolutely loved it
I learned how to read from the Harry Potter books as a kid and my mom was also really into it and would sometimes read them out loud to me. I got this for her as a Christmas gift since 2020 was such a crummy year that I wanted to get her something "fun" with nostalgia, and even as someone in her 60s she absolutely loved it! Said it brought a bunch of joy each day and she would look forward to it, and it was wonderful that it slowly recreated the vaguely-christmas-like Yule ball. Any Harry Potter fan would love this gift. The little arrangements are all really wonderful, and you get some sweet lego pieces like a chocolate frog, star for an xmas tree, etc. The instructions for how to put them together are on the back of the cardboard flaps that you have to open to get the pouches of legos out, just fyi.

Great idea for the Holiday season!
I bought this for my grand daughter who just turned 10. She absolutely loves it! She reads Harry Potter, and has always looked forward to opening the Advent calander when she visits me. I bought this for her with both in mind. She cannot visit right now, so I bought this for her to have at home. Every day, she zooms me when she opens a door, then zooms me when she has finished assembling whatever was in the package for that day. It has really helped since the Holidays aren't the same for any of us this year. All the pieces have been in the proper package so far without any missing. Some have had extra pieces. The "box" that houses the pieces opens to appear to be the ballroom. It appears to be made of Styrofoam with cardboard overlay for the doors. Sturdy, easy to open. Great buy!

Missing tree, extra mini fig FTW
I bought the set for the instruments (yay piano!) and dressy minifigs. (Also a fan of Harry Potter, but that was coincidence.) In opening the set, I found I was missing the large tree but received an extra Minifig instead. Perfectly okay with this. Easy to put together. The house presents seemed like an afterthought though. I'm adding those to my miscellaneous pieces. Would have liked something else in their place.

Advent Calendar with Fun Lego Builds for each day of December up until Christmas Day!
I love this LEGO Advent Calendar. There's a door for each day of December from the 1st through the 24th. In the past, we used a reusable wooden advent calendar that we put little surprises in for each day of December leading up to Christmas day. Since my daughters LOVE LEGOs, this will be a great addition and makes the countdown to Christmas that much more exciting. Each day beginning on December 1, they open a door which reveals a new gift for them to build. I can't wait to surprise them with this starting in December, but I'll still use my old advent calendar along with this as it allows me to place different gifts other than LEGOs.

Awesome for any time of year!
I bought this as an incentive for my kiddos in spring. We heard about these advent calendars through a friend and my kids were so excited to get more Harry Potter legos. I got creative and let them each open a number every day once they'd made it through the day keeping their rooms clean and being kind to each other. Such a great motivator and perfect sized little gift at the end of the day!
