Afraid of the STINK reviews? Here's THE SECRET to using this product effectively!
Afraid of the STINK many are complaining about? Okay...so I tried every single one of Lume's scents and hands down the BEST scent is the one I thought I would like the least, it's the Toasted Coconut. The other scents DO have a strange scent to them upon first application, but honestly ALL of them work, they really do. Here's the secret to using this product, RESIST the temptation to smell the cream straight out of the bottle. Just don't do it. Ewwww! You'll hate it! Instead, just ignore what your nose is telling you and put the stuff on! No! Don't smell your pits immediately! I told you not to! LOL! (I am serious don't do it!)Give it a try and trust the stuff will work and put your clothes on and get dressed. Later when you remove your clothing before bed that's the time to do your scent investigation. Or for the more adventurous among us, have someone else do the scent investigation for you. Sniff those pits or "other" places you chose to slather this stuff all over and I swear these places won't smell at all or they will have a soft lavender, coconut, or whatever scent you chose...even the non-scented one that smells downright putrefying right out of the bottle will not smell at all on your skin after wearing it awhile...instead you'll just be scent-free and smell-free. Give the underarms of your t-shirt a sniff after wearing it all day and you'll only smell lovely lavender, coconut, etc... In fact, this stuff works so well that I asked my husband to use it--on some of his other parts, and WOW holy guacamole am I a believer! ;) After THAT experience he is definitely motivated to use this stuff daily! (You just gotta reward good behavior!) LOL!Finally, to recap, DO NOT try to smell what you're looking for in a scent directly from the bottle or even right after you apply it... it needs time...seasoning for an hour or so, and then you'll be pleased as punch! Delay your need for instant fragrance gratification, modify your expectations for what scents you expect to come from the bottle and instead focus on the outcome (maybe focus on your WHY)...body odor will not occur if you use this after showering. We shower daily so I cannot comment on the 72hr nature of this body deodorant.Oh, and as far as scent choices go, I did try all of the scents and I like the way the toasted coconut mellows out to LATER, lavender mellows out nicely too so it's my second choice and for times that I don't want any scent as no scent is nice too, the unscented version is perfect (but only after time has passed on your skin...definitely a horrible smell after just applying it, but only if you stick your nose up to it. Ignore the scent at first, tell yourself it's going to be ok and let it ride... let it sit and do it's thing and it will disappear into a gorgeous UNSCENTED version. Just don't pay attention to how awful the unscented one is at first, buuuuut I promise you if you give it a few hours you won't be disappointed! I hope this helps you sift through your dilemma when you read ALL the reviews talking about the "stink"... patience grasshopper!

Medical Aesthetician approved!
I am pleasantly surprised at how well this works! I've seen it around but was skeptical on the price. What enticed me was that it's female-owned & pH balances (which is why there is an initial funky smell; it contains mandelic acid -- which is antifungal & helps w/acne). I only use natural deodorant & fell in love with the cream style after using Native, but this one actually keeps that under-boob (and other parts) DRY!! This will be perfect for summer. It passed the bra-line test as well, which is where I also break out when its warmer out -- the ingredients in this not only kills bacteria that makes our pits stinky, it will also reduce my breakouts in these areas + keep me dry. I just got it yesterday, today was day 2; I've been doing the smell-pit test all day; although it doesn't completely rid of that BO smell 100% (again; i've been sniffing every hour all day and it's a hard sniff ; unless someone has their nose to your pits and HARD sniffing you; the smell is very faint) but I don't mind, because it tells me that the ingredients are working WITH me naturally and not just blocking it, so it's an all around win for this esthetician :) A little goes a long way too!

Unexpected coconut notes, otherwise it's great!
LOVE Lume cream deodorants, but this had almost too much coconut scent.I am disabled and my shower is a bit treacherous for me- combined with pain and fluctuating energy levels, I can't shower very often. In between showers, I use bath wipes and Lume to get me through and the Lume honestly does the heavy lifting. I use it in all the standard areas (pits, underboobs, privates, feet, etc) and no matter what scent I use, it dries to odorless within a minute. The only problem with the vanilla scent is there's a definite coconut note, and I absolutely hate the smell of coconut. HATEIT.Thankfully, the scent fades quickly, although I can still smell a tiny hint of vanilla for several hours. In a pleasant way, and with no trace of coconut.Definitely performs the way I expected it to- I love the Lume cream deodorants (not a fan of the antiperspirant varieties) and I've continued to use the vanilla in the same ways I use the other scents, and it just.....works. Nobody wants to smell like they can't shower as often as they'd like, and this helps me maintain some dignity.I'm not sure if I'll stay with the vanilla when I order again (which will take a while, these tubes last forever)- I need to go back to the powder scent for a bit and see which I prefer. If you like coconut and vanilla, I'm sure you'll love this scent! But if you're like me, it *might* be a bit too coconutty for you.
