The most like issue is that one or more cells could be leaking or an open in one of the cells. You could take it apart and rebuild it if you are adventurous. I have had another battery pack for a Canon/Kodak conversions rebuilt. The battery pack worked for a while and now I am back where I started.

NP-E3 battery works in my Canon 1Ds very well.But this battery is not what you looking for Canon EOS 1N. The right battery for Canon EOS 1N is BP-E1.
