DONT build a Blue Iris CCTV system - Buy this NVR instead!
I got this NVR because my dedicated PC running Blue Iris was becoming quite difficult to manage and was struggling when I enabled H.265 encoding on the WGCC I bought last year (product link: WGCC IP Poe Camera). I wanted to see how a dedicated NVR box would compare and I have to admit this is definitely the best way to go. It costs less than a dedicated PC setup and since it’s sole purpose is to be a CCTV system that’s exactly what it does, nothing more, nothing less.I was sceptical about whether it could do all the things a comprehensive program like Blue Iris can do but I needn’t have been. If you’ve got several IP cameras on your network and need a centralised CCTV system with easy-peasy remote monitoring save yourself a lot of hassle (and money!) and just get a dedicated NVR like this!My video is a bit long (just over 11 mins) but it covers:- An overview of the NVR and how it works- Connecting to different brands of cameras- Recording playback and searching- Browser based viewing and administration- Remote viewing app I like this NVR. A few key points are:- Works with any OnVif compliant IP cameras- Can access IP cameras on your existing network via the LAN port AND cameras connected to the on-board PoE Ethernet ports simultaneously. It creates a bridge between its own 4 port network and your existing network, so HD cameras connected to the on-board network don’t used bandwidth on your main network.- Remote viewing app uses a P2P server system so does not need complicated port forwarding on your router- Supports cameras with H.265 video streams- Much easier to setup than a PC based CCTV system- 7 days of continuous recording from two super HD 1440p cameras and two 720p cameras on a 1TB HDD (note: HDD is not included)

Good build quality and excellent customer service
My old CCTV system was getting on for nearly 8 years, so I decided to upgrade to high definition ONVIF, Wi-Fi cameras with PTZ. The cameras are IPC accessible remotely by wi-fi and have internal storage, however, the included SD card of each camera only stores about 7 days recording before over-writing, and, although I could increase the size of the SD cards, it would mean changing all three cards as well as dismantling and reassembling each camera. My old DVR had a good 2 TB hard disk that stores at least 30 days recording of all three cameras, so I decided to source a reasonable priced new ONVIF NVR. I got a really small neat NVR excluding HDD at under £60 and installed my 2 TB HDD, all went well except for the very poor limited chinglish instructions, and when I tried to download the recommended mobile app to allow remote access. My internet security refused to allow installation and informed me that the application was high security risk as it was installing additional software that was sending back to China, information on all my installed applications perhaps for the purpose of data mining. I couldn't get it to work with another application so I returned it. Enter the WGCC NVR! I went back to the Amazon website and after a long detailed search, I settled on the WGCC NVR with PoE. It was nearly twice the price of the previous device and more than I wanted to pay especially as it includes PoE that I didn't need since my cameras are powered independently. However, I considered I was future-proofing the system by having PoE. I installed my HDD and everything worked fine. Instructions are clearly written and the recommended mobile app Guard Viewer is responsive with no issues at the moment. I was also able to download the full comprehensive professional quality manual in English from the company's website. But one of my most pleasant surprises was the excellent customer service that comes with WGCC NVR. Something happened and I forgot my password or noted it down incorrectly so I was unable to access the NVR's system. The device has a very user-friendly and logical interface. When I selected "Forgotten Password", it showed the serial number and instructed me to contact the technical service centre for a temporary password. I contacted the company through Amazon and was pleased at the speed of their responses, and the high level of clarity, on at least three occasions. It has been working away happily since without any problems. I would have given 5 stars except for two reasons; 1) the unit has a small fan which is fairly noticeable in a quiet room such as a bedroom. 2) this might be a personal thing but I find the 4 LEDs on the front panel (3 green and 1 flashing red) much too bright, I would much prefer tiny discrete less bright ones. All in all this is a great little NVR at a reasonable price that is well made from a company that understands the importance of clearly written instructions and good customer service.

Excellent Product. Exceeded expectation
I ordered this product to connect a couple of SV3C cameras, both of which are reported as ONVIF. They did not work, but I have since realised that they do not like being connected to PoE even though they are PoE cameras. I then bought a couple of WGCC cameras, 1 dome and 1 bullet. Both worked first time I am very pleased with the range of functions on the NVR and I must say that the seller CHUANGLAN-CAMERA is very quick at replying to questions. I seemed to have problems with the password and they quickly told me how to overcome this. I realised by the time difference that the technical support comes from the far east, but it was excellent.I now have 2 cameras setup and able to view on an attached monitor on a desktop on the same network and also on an Android tablet remotely.Great product and I will be buying further WGCC cameras in future to add to the current ones. There are still a couple of features I am trying to work through, but with time these will come to me.
