Also useful for clearing central heating sludge
I wanted a means of connecting an airpump to move sludge blocking part of my central heating. I could not find anything specified for the purpose and decided to try this. I emptied a radiator and connected the pump via the pressure test kit to one of the valves and so the central heating pipes. I pumped some air, closed the valve and disconnected the test kit then opened it to let air out again. With many repetitions on flow or return pipes, each time air came out, then water and some of the sludge. Eventually I had shifted the blockage and got the heating back to the affected radiators. Although the kit was meant for dry use, it seems to have survived getting some water in it.

Very easy to use.
Connected this to the central heating system, pressurised with a portable air pump and it's pressure gauge reading was almost identical to that of the pump. The reading on the boiler gauge was slightly different and I'm guessing that's because the boiler was some distance away. The pressure slowly dropped and it turned out to be an old solder joint under the floor, which will be tiled over. So this did its job and saved a lot of headaches later on. Great product at a great price!

Simple and effective
No plumber (/DIYer) should be without one. So many expensive mistakes can be avoided by using one.

Dry testing to known pressures
Invaluable bit of kit. Saves leaks while filling pipework without soaking anything .
