A really nice set of wooden farm animals suitable for small childrenMuch nicer than plastic

Grandson (12m) absolutely loves this set. Even though he cannot balance them yet it makes for a great little farm. These are one of his favourite toys and carries them around making animal noises. The artwork on the wooden shapes is great and has also stood up to rough play

There's some confusion in the descriptions of this stacking/balancing toy which gives various ages (one to three) and quotes as Montessori type toys.That aside my 18 month-old granddaughter loved playing with the vividly coloured wooden dinosaurs. The ten dinosaurs and base are fun to try and stack and to play imaginative games with. The stacking element is rather ad hoc which is fine for small children and the adult playing with them. This encourages logical thinking and develops hand/eye coordination.I think she'll get lots of use from this toy and as her abilities develop she'll find more ways to play.

Advertised incorrectly, Not appropriate for 1-3 as advertised, box it comes in actually says 3+ as they are fairly small. I order them for my 1 year old but she won’t be able to play with these yet due to how small they are. However, this would be a great toy for a 2/3+ year old.

I know a lad of three who is crazy about dinosaurs so I asked him to give me a real life playing review of these stacking toys. It's a bit worrying because his dad who is a friend of mine, liked playing with these almost as much as his son!Firstly I looked at the toys and I was really impressed with them. They are cut and shaped pieces of real wood with printed stickers stuck on matching coloured paint and then laquered to keep them durable and safe. The quality is excellent. You also get a nice canvas bag to keep them in.I then gave them to my friend to see how him and his son got on. They absolutely loved them. Not only do these work as dinosaur toys for normal play, the added stacking feature is brilliant. My mate said it is a fun way of teaching hand-eye coordination, shape-recognition and placement, and once they got out the curved base his boy was learning the science of physics such as weight distribution, balance and such-like. His lad was really interested in seeing how things like this work.Later on I discovered that they spent three hours playing that evening, and the next evening they were both proud of achieving full balance with the base too. My mate was so happy with himself (and his son too of course!).Anyway, we can all highly recommend this toy; for being a teaching tool and also a fun toy for imaginative play. Highly recommended.

Well made and large enough pieces to avoid swallowing etc. Being made of wood the pieces are very tactile especially as they are varied in shape. Brightly coloured and having a rainbow unicorn theme, ticks quite a few boxes. Thoughtfully there is a bag included to keep the pieces in.My mixed feelings are the stacking qualities. These do no promote recognising certain spaces go in certain spaces or places. Yes they will stack randomly. Certainly there is skill required too balance the pieces one on top of the other.They are vague for money I think as it's a wooden toy, but I do have reservations regarding it's advertised play.
