So much fun!
Whiel the Android companion app is a bit janky, the device itself is super fun. You can lay down a silly beat in no time. It feels well-constructed, not cheap. The built-in speaker isn't going to satisfy audiophiles, but it is loud and bass-y enough for sitting on the couch noodling around.I have a copetitor's device. You know the one I'm talking about. Art*** Orb***. This Medo is a serious upgrade to even the second version of that other device. So if you have the other device and feel it is lacking.... Try this one.

It's a midi interface, synthesizer, sampler, groovebox π€·
The medo is built pretty well with a built in mate case and the size is great. The sound quality coming from the speaker isn't great but it does get the job done. 99 dollars gets you a pretty powerful device and it works as intended

Super fun starter synth/groovebox
Bought it for a friend and heβs having fun with it. Fairly intuitive interface makes it a blast. The software is cool as it lets you load samples and switch the sound sets for more variety. Not a device for making pro recordings but a lot of fun and it lets one build multi track compositions fast.

Useful for Entering the Kiddos⦠for a day [Updated]
[Updated review and slightly better review score (from 2 to 3), because Donner is a responsible and responsive company - see the end of this review for more info]β¦but donβt think that itβs useful to make anything approaching real music. I own several pieces of serious music making gear; a Roland SPD-SX PRO, an Akai MPC One, etc, but those are not portable enough to take on a plane or bring to work with me. I thought this little dude might satisfy my constant urge to drum on things, tap my foot, and generally make everyone at work hate me. It was ok when I first got it, but the complexity of the user interface wears on you quickly. I stopped using it and gave it to my kids. They felt the same about it after a few days and now it sits on a shelf. The app you use to load new patches and sounds is seriously lacking, and the people that upload their βsongsβ to it make βFridayβ sound like a masterpiece. The documentation leaves a lot to be desired, especially the videos that use that super annoying AI Slop voice that mispronounces everything and makes you want to throw your phone off the nearest tall building. Do an experiment before purchasing. Download the Donner app and look up the docs and videos for this device. If you find them intuitive and not-at-all unnerving, go for it. The sampling sounds horrible, even on good headphones. The sound library is very limited and only useful for acid house musicβ¦ which is now dead *for some reason*.What did I expect for $70? That is its one redeeming quality, and the reason I didnβt rate it a 1 star. But I looked it up on Donnerβs store a few minutes ago and it retails for $219! Guess whoβs hitting eBay tonight?[Donner contacted me within days of posting this review. I was impressed by their concern for the customer and how their products are reviewed. In this day of pushing reviews for the highest rating possible, itβs refreshing to see Donner take the time to make it right instead of flooding the reviews to make it disappear. Donner as a company? 5-Stars! The actual product? I still stand by the original review.]

Thumbs up!
I got this for my 6 year old and he has a lot of fun with it. I love it too, there are many sounds and itβs easy to use. Great starter synth and nice for travel. You could take it out in nature and just relax, make some cool beats.

Donner has knocked it out of the park
while I do have some gripes about this device, I think this is a great 1st generation product. it reminds me of a combination of the Orba2 crossed with the viral tic-tac-toe game. the pads are a bit too sensitive to my liking but I do love that you can actually sample directly on the Medo instead of how on the Orba you had to use the app. the app updates have been constant and I do hope Donner continues to improve and provide updates to the app, the sample library, and Medo. 5 stars!!

Didnβt work
Wish I could have experience it but the one sent didnβt turn on or charge or work. Donβt know if it was just a dud or a common issue π€·ββοΈ
