CAP Barbell Coated Dumbbell Weight | Multiple Options Pairs & Sets

I just recently started my fitness journey and purchased my first dumbell set but it only came with 5lb, 10lb and 15lb pairs, so I quickly needed heavier ones but the price for heavier pairs of that brand were double the cost of these CAP Barbell Coated Dumbbells so I decided to try this brand out and I am very happy with them. They look very similar to my others and the price is the best deal I could find for a quality pair.I purchased the 20lb and 25lb pairs and they were delivered very quickly and in perfect condition. Each dumbell was a separate package but all 4 were delivered at the same time. They are packaged very well, each box comes inside of another box to protect it during shipping. The dumbells were covered in plastic and had protective foam pieces to help hold them in place.The grip bars are great and comfortable to hold and hang on to. The 20lb dumbbells look a little rough on quality where the weights attach to the grip bar however it doesnt effect the quality of use and otherwise, the overall appearance is fine so not a huge deal. (The 25lb dumbbells have much cleaner quality in those areas).They do have a very strong smell (stronger than my other set) however, it was expected and will fade over time. Thankfully mine do not have any oily residue on them, as some others have mentioned in their reviews, so there was no cleaning required!I recommend these dumbbells if you're looking for a deal on a pair. For the most part, they are very similar and comparable to my others so it's a great fit, I will be definitely be purchasing some more heavier sets in the near future.

These weights are AWESOME!!! Well made, excellent grip, durable, great for your workout. I read all of the negative reviews before buying then decided to take a chance anyway, and I am so glad I did, because the price is terrific for such quality. I bought a set of 10lbs and a set of 15lbs. The 10lb set has a slight smell, but nothing overpowering. The weights do not leave black marks on hands or surfaces, from what I’ve experienced so far. (Maybe I don’t sweat enough? We’ll see.)

This set is just what I needed to complete my home gym. This consists of 5,10,15,20, and 25 pound dumbbells and an A-frame rack. It is shipped in a set of 4 boxes via UPS. Needless to say, my delivery guy loved me the day he had to lug these weights to my door. The dumbbells are very nice and high quality. They are very sturdy and durable. These dumbbells have the comfort grips. The grips are not super soft, but are softer than plain metal. The grips have ridged surfaces to make them less slippery. The weights themselves are rubber coated, making them less loud than full metal dumbbells. I ordered additional weights to go with this set to give me a few heavier options. I did not use the A-frame that came with the set. I preferred to go with a 3-tier rack that I could expand my weights. CAP is a trusted name in weights and this is a nice dumbbell set that they have put out. I am very happy with these weights. It is a nice set that you can expand upon.

I used to compete semi-pro in bikini competitions. I was a member of a gym that offered Rogue weights. I was hit head on by a drunk driver & lost the ability to raise my right arm, move my neck well, & my upper back incurred damage so much that I could no longer lift or compete.For nearly 5 years, my right arm couldn't lift an empty cup of coffee. I had an in depth MRI done to my shoulders & it was determined that I could use my shoulders "as they'd allow" but not to be too optimistic. After years of PT, massage, chiropractic, & simply rest, nothing seemed to work. So I took off an entire year & did light stretching as my body would allow. Slowly, I started lifting weights again using the 5lb Cap dumbells.I started with curls because those kept my my shoulders stable & I could still build strength. I started with 6 reps x 3 sets. I increased every week up to 8 reps, 10, 12, then 15. At 15 reps x 3 sets, I increased the Cap weights from 5 up to 10lbs then reduced my reps back down to 6 x 3. I increased the reps up to 8, 10, 12, then 15 & increased the Cap weights again up to 15 lbs. Over the course of 3 years, I've rehabbed myself & currently use Cap dumbbells in both 15 & 25lbs for various movements. I can move my arms, neck, & back with little pain.Cap dumbbells are a perfect swap for Rogue & for the price, I prefer them. They have stainless, textured grip which means I don't have to wear gloves for my hands to hold the bar steady & the texture isn't so rough that I have to wear gloves to protect them. The lower weights have a slimmer bar whereas the 15lb+ weights have a thicker bar. I prefer the slimmer bar as I'm a woman & have smaller hands than my husband, who said he doesn't mind either one & the thicker ones fit his hands well.The weighted ends are covered in rubber so there is a very slight rubber scent of the product upon initial opening. It dissipates quickly. The dumbbells are incredibly easy to use. Just hold the bar in your hand & raise it to your preference. I can no longer raise them above my head as if to complete an overhead press but I can do a chest press (laying down either flat or at a slight angle) & press the weights upward from my chest. Remember that I couldn't hardly lift 5lbs. Now I'm pressing 25lbs.I really like the stainless bar as they rust, peel, or crack like like some coated products do & they're easy to clean. The optional various weights are nice to have for different moves.For the weights I have, I also bought the Cap A-frame dumbbell rack which holds 5 sets of weights. Had I known I'd respond well to my own training & would eventually buy more weights, I'd have opted for their 3-tier rack which holds about 1000lbs & 10 sets, which is nearly all the weight options.Overall, I'm very happy with the quality of the bar & rack, the coated weight, & their products as a whole. I think this is a pretty solid brand.

The dumbells exceeded my expectations. Great value and very satisfied with my purchase. The coating on the weights is great and good grip on handle. I will by again.

I’ve been using these for about a month - they seem very well made and have been a nice addition to my workout equipment. They did arrive very oily, as some people have said, and had that “gym” smell, which has since completely dissipated (took a couple weeks). A good wipe down got rid of the oil, but they do still leave some black marks (mostly able to wipe away depending on the material - it’s been hard to completely remove from my workout mat). Overall, good value for a good product!

These 10lb dumbbells are awesome! Super solid and easy to handle, plus I scored a great deal on the pair. Couldn’t be more excited to start small and keep building up my home gym. I love the color black. Weight Quality is superb, I love them for an effective workout.
