I think this is the perfect mp3 player for me
I bought the purple one and the color is pretty much the same as the photos.I plugged it into my 10-year-old Macbook Pro and loaded all my songs in seamlessly. I love bringing my CD's and portable CD player around with me, but sometimes that is not a viable option, like when I am working out, hiking, and traveling. This mp3 player is pretty good. The menu is easy to navigate and all the settings are intuitive. Bluetooth pairing is fast and simple. I love that I can add songs to my favorites. It also allows up to 3 favorite playlist. I will be excited to utilize this feature to set workout and hiking playlists. I can choose by folder (exactly as they appear when connected to a laptop), album, artist, genre (did not try; I do not intend to use this feature at all), favorites, or all songs (shuffle option available). Album art display correctly when there is one. It recognized the album and artist names accurately.I even like all the wallpaper and screensaver options. There are a few features that I have not tried but seems cool: pedometer (and step history), alarm, and stopwatch. My ONLY complain is that the level 1 (the lowest level) is far too loud when using the wired earphones that came with the mp3 player. But this is not an issue when I paired it with my Sony wh-ch720n, which allows further volume adjustment. If you have earphones or headphones that has volume feature, this will not affect you as well.I had a Sony mp4 player for many years before it stopped working due to my own negligence. I would still choose the Sony one over this if it worked. But since Sony doesn't make the one I had anymore and the options in their website are extremely expensive, I consider this mp3 player as a strong alternative to my old one. This mp3 player checks all the boxes for me based on my needs. I recommend this mp3 player if you want something cheap, functional, and easy to use.

A bit janky, but still better than other mp3 players in this price range (and this day)
So, to be clear, it's good for its price, but it doesn't measure up to the quality of older and better mp3 players. I'm going to be keeping it, but there are just some things that bug me.I had a Sony Walkman that died, and it was awesome - it was awesome at playlists and allowed you to search alphabetically - features that other mp3 players I've tried seem to be tragically missing (including this one). Then there's the lack of buttons, which means this mp3 player is impossible to operate by touch, and the couple buttons there are (the volume and power buttons on the side) seem a bit flimsy, so now I'm wondering if the company has yet to master the subtle art of button making. My second major complaint is with the software. The UI is pleasing to look at and not terribly difficult to navigate, but everything under the hood is a headache. After plugging it into a computer, a prompt comes up asking you to choose between options - the only way to actually get the mp3 player to connect and allow you to transfer music, is to not select either of them, not press anything, and just wait. Then, after I decided to transfer a couple audiobooks - the player just lumped them in with my music. Fortunately there are folders, so I can get around playlists that way. Unfortunately, the transfer just lumps in "album art" files along with music, so actually finding the song you want is made unnecessarily difficult. The worst part is the album art isn't even applied to the right songs T_TOtherwise, it does seem to be above other mp3 players in this price range - like, there's a heft to this that makes it feel like it's durable and better quality (even if I'm skeptical, as it already has developed a bubble on its front with less thana day of practically no use). It also looks nice, and has features that others are lacking: bluetooth, radio, external speakers (even if they're quite weak), the ability to put it to sleep or shut down the screen without turning it off (thus minimizing the chance of accidentally pressing something and changing what you're listening to).

Pick another vendor.
When it arrived, I could not set a time or date. No detailed instructions. They forgot to tell you to reset and format it. After that, I was able to set time and date. I am creating training audio files. This does not have a way to set up files properly as a main title with sub-files. I still have not put it to real use. The FM receiver works. I must be missing something; it just isn't useful. Maybe I need another software tool to properly prepare the files and then load them via USB.

Good but there are things to consider
Easy to use with a lot of options. I got it to replace my old IPOD for songs I own. I like that I can connect to the web if needed and use Amazon Music. Not hard to set up, but you do need to use their software to play your own music. Have two, one for me and my wife, but I had to set hers all up. If computers and electronics are not your friend, you will need to find someone to help you. Also, in the sunlight at a pool or beach, it is very hard to see the controls. I would recommend inversing the color.

Great shuffle feature
Very happy with this (except the white navigation markings on the lavender is pretty illegible). What I really like is that the MP3 reconnects automatically to my bluetooth speaker when I turn it on. Also, when I play through my exercise music folder in shuffle mode, it seems to be playing everything. The last MP3 I had seemed to play the same songs over and over. With this one (same folder of music) I keep hearing something new. Very nice.
