It works well if you are ok turning it on everyday but it fails if you are trying to hook it up to an automatic outlet timer because when the outlet timer turns on the lights don't automatically turn on (you have to click through the switch options). This may seem like a small deal but if you are trying to automate your grow light setup you are completely screwed.

You think this whole concept wouldn't work. I couldn't be farther from the truth!!Live without the constraints of a UV shell or clunky alternatives. Low energy. The timer works great!

This is not a full spectrum day light lamp, and the red and blue lights generate heat. If these are too close to your plants, the heat will burn them u p.

This light is remarkable. The timer function works perfect along with the different intensity settings as your plants gain height as they grow. Would buy this light again.

Excellent live the timer function and my plants are thriving

so far the light is working just fine but I have not had it long enough to see if it performs as advertised. The delivery however was another thing. there is nothing that should take 2 weeks to be delivered. I have never ordered anything that has taken near that long to receive.
