Since I left the review below Eufy have reached out to help solve my problems with this camera , I have been so impressed with the time and care Eufy have spent on resolving my problems that I have now added to this review.Thanks to the help from Eufy my camera is now working as it should the quality of this camera was never in doubt the fix is is about the positioning,the height ,the angle ,the settings and trial and error, I really enjoyed getting this right , so I would recommend this camera and Eufy as a company I was surprised that they had read my review and acted on 5 stars all round.Had this for 2wks now ,good points easy to set up and install ,battery life seems to be very good and picture is excellent.It is very good quality and seem very robust, but it misses more events than it gets.I have tried everything in the settings on the app every tips on the internet but it seems this is a common flaw , I’ve had it a different heights ,moved it to different positions,different angles, straight on , to the side ,tilted up tilted down but make no difference ie it can pick up a small sparrow flying past but not a car driving past , does not pick a person until halfway down my driveway regardless of how I set it up, I had a cheat tapo camera which picked up every event so I’m a wee bit disappointed,nevertheless it is a good camera and a deterrent and maybe a future update will fix the flaws so I’m keeping this camera

GOLD STANDARD!Honestly I am blown away by how good this camera is!This was purchased for my nan, who had a ring doorbell, that notified of someone, but didn't record or anything as she wasn't on the subscription.I bought this so she had some security at the front of the house and hoped with the solar battery it would be a case of she would never have to touch it once installed. Well one month on and that is still the case, but we have had great weather, so whether it would need a charge in winter will be seen.Motion detection is great..maybe too great. I set it to humans, but it detected cars still but that wasn't an issue for us.It also detects vibrations I guess, as I will watch a recording and nothing for three seconds and then I will see my nan open the gate and it records for two full minutes or until the person is out of site.Thirdly, which I think is genius, is that you may have a 70 second recording but it also displays a snapshot of the person it captured, so you can very easily see that the notification at 0900 was just the postman on the drive.Blown away. Can't recommend enough. With the free storage and solar panels, it's a no brainer over other brands.

Good little camera, easy to set up, good picture quality

Camera was very easy to set up and link up with app. The battery and solar panel make it extremely convenient to position the camera in almost any location. I found the wifi range was very good with ability to receive pictures from over 40 feet away. The price point is also a keen aspect of this purchase very good for budget, the camera is easy to set up and receive notification on your mobiles. With ability to zoom the functions and setting easy to navigate. Overall a good reliable product, with good support and backup from the manufacturer.

I bought this camera on the strength of the other reviews on here and perhaps I just had bad luck with my camera, but here is my feedback for what it's worth.Positive:1. The camera was very easy to setup using the app after giving it a full charge out of the box.2. Very good picture from the camera and the localAI function worked very well in detecting people.3. App notifications worked well and even got alerts on my Apple Watch too.4. Storage capacity appears sufficient for my needs and videos can be downloaded on demand onto your phone with ease.5. Privacy and activation zones could be set up fairly easily although it took several attempts as you can set the zone right on the border of your phone screen without the phone thinking you want tot switch apps.Negative:1. The app lets you know the overall capacity of the battery (as well as charge level) like you get on your phone, however with 12 hours of installing the camera the overall capacity had dropped from 100 to 99% - which doesn't bode well for longevity.2. Even though it is advertised as working with Google home, I could not get this to work. Once the Google home app is authorised to connect with the Eufy account it asks you to set a PIN number for 2FA. When you then try to connect to the camera afterwards you just get a blank screen and a spinning wheel. I think the 2FA part is causing problems with Google home.3. The wifi connection at the point of installation was full strength as confirmed by the app (the app checks your install location at the time of setup), however in the 24hrs I had the camera it stopped communicating with the network forcing me to reboot the camera via the app which reset the connection (if the wifi was the problem how comes I could reboot the camera from the app successfully?). For reference I have a Wifi 7 system with 2 nodes within 5m of the camera.4. When motion was detected by the camera I would receive a text type notification (there are 3 types of notification available but text type is the quickest) immediately and be able to click and view the video. However if I were to then goto the saved video section (to say go and download it) the video I just saw would not yet be there. It would take up to another 20 minutes or so for the video to be listed in the video feed. Sometimes on refresh additional clips of video would appear where no notification was received. All a bit hit and miss.5. When playing back saved videos from the camera it states in the app that it is decrypting it before showing it. On several occasions I got an error message and when it did work the playback once stuttered several times during the playback. I put this down to an issue with the app and its connection to the camera or possibly the hardware's capability to decrypt the video on the fly, because if you download the video to your phone it plays back nicely.

Ordered as an add-on to our existing Eufy ecosystem (doorbell + Homebase). Works brilliantly covering our driveway, in conjunction with the doorbell. Charging is also great, even though it's not exactly south-facing - I cannot speak for the durability and battery longevity over winter though. All in all a good and cost-effective option.
