Q: Is the mask machine washable if I wash it in a delicates bag and hang dry?

It has a cover like a pillow case with the straps attached... That can be washed... Its seems thick enough that you shouldn't need to wash the bag inside..

Q: Can you wet the mask with hot water and then also insert the heated pads. Plus is the mask washable so you can clean it periodically.

You could get it wet but I wouldn't retain water as it is nylon. You can wipe it with a damp cloth but I don't think you could wash it in the washing machine .

Q: Was the purpose for 2gel packs to give a backup, or are we supposed to use both at the same time.The video looks like she only heated 1 bulkiness of2?

I only use 1 at a time. I assumed the extra gel pack is a backup

Q: can you microwave the insert (if so how long) or only boiling water to heat?

Best to do it only in boiling water as mfg instructs--I microwaved my first one, noisy rupture ensued--nothing violent, but did ruin the mask--THEN I got around to reading the instructions (my bad) .
