Q: Is Dixit Origins the same as Dixit (1st version) ?

It's an expansion pack, so it has new/different cards that are equally as beautiful! The Dixit logo on the back is the same though, so you can mix these cards in with your original Dixit (1st version). It could also be played as stand alone dixit, but it doesn't have the board or rabbit pieces.

Q: Is this expansion pack for the family version or the more adult version of Dix it?

The recommended age range for the game and the expansion pack is 8-15 years old. We play this game as a family and we have played with kids 6 years old but they do have good imaginations. They were able to “understand” the game with help and several games under their belt. I would say 8 is a really good age to start playing this game. It would be a good idea to start by playing partners and “discussing” the choices you make in each round so the younger players “see” how to make the choices in the game.

Q: I am planning to buy a complete set including Dixit Origins, Dixit Daydreams and Dixit Quest. Are these sets overlap each other?

We don't have Dixit Daydreams, but do have origins, quest, journey and odessey. There's no overlap in picture cards. Well, one set had two cards from another, which an "advertisement" for a different version. Other than that, there's none.

Q: Can you use this expansion with the Journey base game?

Yes, all the Dixit cards are made to add to the original version or be used with any other version. I have them all! Love the game!

Great for kids and adults alike, one of the favourites!

Dixit is probably one of my kids' most favourite games! It's great for adults as well. Adults can enjoy the game by developing more complex definitions and stories to match the cards. Great party game. It's easy to play, it stimulates the imagination. This pack is the expansion only, but if you find the rules online you don't really need a game board. These cards can also be used to play other games such as Detective Club.
