Simple, Reliable Basic Wood-Stick Matches
This is my second box of these basic, old fashioned wood-stick matches and I love them. They are super handy to have around and I use them for everything - from lighting candles, to starting the barbecue, lighting pilot lights, bathroom odor elimination and everything you can think of where striking a match is needed. They are reliable - every single match in the box easily lit and I don't think I experienced a single failure. The safety feature of striking on the box prevents these matches from being used inappropriately because they won't ignite if struck on most surfaces. They actually need to be in contact with the striking surface of the box in order to catch fire. On my first box, I worried that the striking strips on the sides of the box wouldn't last long enough for every match, but they held up through the whole box and had some power leftover when all the matches had been used.I am super-satisfied with these matches! Old fashioned wood matches are one of those low-tech basics that every household needs!

Why I Prefer Large Matches for BBQ
For a long time, I used to buy the small matches, but when I started to BBQ, I saw these larger ones in the store, and I bought them. I like these better because I have a better grip and they light up faster than the smaller matches. These matches don't break as often as the smaller ones. I do notice that the scratch pad tends to wear out, so I'm glad there is one on both sides of the box.

Excellent, sturdy matches
I had been using the smaller Diamond brand matches and was very irritated by how frequently I'd break a stick while striking it. These larger matches are very stout and also stay lighted for a much longer time than the smaller matches. Instead of taking 3 or 4 matches to light a fire it just takes one.

Best Matches of 2018
Other match brands, move along! You'd think in a world filled with technology that matches are becoming phased out, well you may be right, but I've found that these matches in particular are more trust than your Zippo lighter. So, these bad boys have a longer wooden shaft which means the striker head can absorb more tension hence the Strike Anywhere feature. Best part is you get 300 of 'em. These are by far the sturdiest matches mankind has ever come to known. There's a reason God never wanted mankind to develop fire, and these boys are that reason. they will withstand any weather, run shine, snow, a windy kid's birthday party outdoors, you name it. I've never had the head break on me, like those flimsy matches you get at Texas de Brasil. Overall, 10/10 product. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to get the job done.

PRETTY GOOD, BUT. . .
Pretty good matches, but occasionally find a weak one that snaps upon striking. Overall good.

The perfect match.
I can't believe how easily they light - I barely have to drag it across the box, and never more than once. I'd never think to review a box of matches but I'm never going back to anything else!

Dependable ignition every time
What can one really say about matches?Well, let's start with They Just Work. They strike positively, first time, every time. They're long enough to get the job done, not long enough to be awkward and fragile like barbecue matches so often are, and you get 300 to a box. They may not be the Swan Vestas I knew and loved growing up in England, but as long as you're not hiking off into the wilderness they're just as good. Two Technical Thug thumbs up.

Buyer Beware! CA P65 WARNING on box From CA gov
These Diamond Strike On Box Matches have a CA P65 Warning label right on the box. It says it can cause cancer and gives off carbon monoxide when lit. This is very concerning. I don't want anything in my house that can jeopardize my health. These matches have a strong toxic odor when lit that lingers a long time.
