I was kinda shocked that after putting on the first cream then adding the 2nd on top of it after waiting it turned black immediately! And the black that got on my skin washed away pretty easily vs regular box colors that are almost impossible to get off skin. As such I wondered if the dye on my hair would also wash away but it didn’t! My favorite shampoo is a soap bar type that always washes away tons of color from my regular hair dye but barely any of this black washed out. Only 3 adjustments noticed: 1. You may need 2 boxes because unlike regular hair dye in a box where you mix the developer & color which makes it twice the volume, with this you don’t mix them so it goes half as far if that makes sense. 2. There aren’t any chemical smells while coloring but after rinsing there was a smell so I used hair products that have nice smells and also shampoed (note: I didn’t try the shampoo that came with the color since I’m allergic to nuts so perhaps it helps the smell?) but after shampooing it went away. 3. I didn’t notice the comb that came in the instructions since I had xtra gloves on hand. Apparently it’s important thoroughly apply because I missed a spot that remained completely white/gray so next time I will use the comb. It would be advisable to not use the entire amount in case you miss a spot. I reordered 2 boxes to use again. I’m so thankful as I thought I’d have to stop coloring since I’m so allergic to all regular box dyes. I’m surprised this actually worked!

I bought this product 3 times. The third is my last. The first 2 times it worked but not like the instructions says. I had to leave it in for 30min. The last time it seems like the Formula has been changed. It became very sensitive and burnt a little as well As staining my skin like a magic marker and not a natural dye color. So I will not be buying this product again

I’m normally very allergic to hair dye and I was able to use this without any issues. I will be buying this again to dye my hair.

I have fairly light hair and the black did not make my hair anything other than green. I might be too ashy for it, but wasn’t happy with this product. If you’re trying to go black because of hair dye allergy, this is not the one for you. As far as an allergy, I did not break out. It did not make my skin hurt, and it was gentle on my skin. So I gave it four stars for that I don’t wanna totally dig on the product. It might be better for the lighter hair colors putting light hair color over top but as far as Black)! goes, it did not work on my light brown dirty strawberry blonde mix. It also did not cover my grays if you’re looking for gray coverage in black

I'm allergic to permanent hair dyes. This one works well for it being demi permanent, however the smell is horrible lol. Stays in your hair for a few washes-and by the time the smell is gone so is the color. I will continue to buy, though, until I find something else that works for me. I usually use this product on my roots (for my gray hairs) then I do the rest with overtone black (to try and help with the smell) it's a process to do my hair. Gotta do what ya gotta do though.

I can’t use dyes that contain Para-phenylenediamine (PPD) at all. This product didn’t trick and is safe enough for me to use. I only bought one box since it was my first time trying it. I have a lot of hair so 2 boxes would have been better for the initial coverage. Will buy again.

The process was easy for anyone who is a diy person.The color is a vivid black. What I was most concerned is that I had no allergic reaction to it. That was my key factor in ordering it. The color doesn’t last long but it does last long enough time to enjoy your natural color. Also, I only color the spot in front that has the most gray. I actually have enough left over to do that spot again.

So I bought this thinking it was allergin free, but it isn't and still requires a 48 hr prior test. The product for 3 days left a bad sulfuric like smell in my hair regardless of shampooing. Also, the white hairs lost the tint in 8 days. The product does say semi permanent though. It also left my scalp with a burning sensation for a few days. So between the smell, the burning sensation and the lack of the dye sticking, I do not recommend the product. Oh yeah, and my hair became very dry like. Not good!
