Old Dutch International Antique Pewter Bookshelf and Pot Rack

This product is definitely a case of let the buyer beware. Do not buy this product. This product arrived two days after I ordered it, which was nice. But that is the extent of my good experience. The product is very poorly crafted. The product supposedly is pewter, which would be a nice feature if it actually were pewter. The welding is of inferior quality. In fact, due to poor craftsmanship and awful welding, one of the bars that adheres to the wall is connected to the pot rack by a piece that has been welded on at a 15-degree angle. As a result, the rack will not fit perfectly parallel on the wall unless you manipulate the way you screw it in. Other pieces of the product are uneven. Honestly, it seems a 15-year-old produced this product in Shop class--if the year were 1970 and high schools still had shop class. This is not worth the money.

Even though it is a painted finish it does hide the spot welds which is how it should be put together. Neither of which you notice once it is placed a desirable level above your head on the wall. It came with 8 hooks which are bent in an upside down I_I shape so that they can be placed anywhere on the underside. It has 7 holes and comes with 7 2" screws for anchoring it. In my case only the center was on a stud the others were anchored using 6 metal screw-in drywall anchors then the screws that came with them to hold the shelf up. Now it has a 15 lb flower box in it and could probably hold more and the hooks are holding dangling picture frames.

This is wonderful. It has saved me so much cabient space. However installing it was a pain due to one scew hole was not cut right and all of them were difficult to get to because there was so little clearance between the screw holes and the front part of the rack. I sugest you use a drill extention to put this up. If you don't have one allready order one with it.

I read the reviews, I knew it wouldn't be perfect but hey it was cheap. I read the review about one woman's husband being a welder and he fixed it for her and she said it was fine. My husband is a welder so I figured I'd be safe. He looked at it and laughed. The rack had sharp points and burrs everywhere. The oval links were lined up by a blind man and the metal "tape" they used to hold the ovals together was coming apart, oh yeah and also sharp. The finish was hideous but hey I was prepared for that from the reviews but just saying. It would've taken my husband a full work day to fix that ugly thing but do you know what he gets paid an hour? It would cost us money for him to take a day to fix this horrible thing. I can't believe Amazon even sells this. I can not express how much I hated this product and how no one should ever ever buy it. Ever

Just received this pot rack and it was horrible. The left side bracket was not welded properly so it sat to the left, we could not get it straight and by trying to fix it, the bottom part of bracket would separate from the bottom, this prevented it from being flushed against the wall on the left. so there is a space of about 1/2 on that side. Upon further review, i noticed everthing was welded crooked and it was very noticeable. It looks horrible. Unfortunately, my husband put it up and did not care, I will sending this back. Do not buy. The color was nice.
