Metra Electronics - Cadillac CTS 2008-2014 (99-3018S) Metra Radio Install kits

This dash kit fit very well in our 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe with Bose. Installation was straightforward just need to follow the direction step by step. Cadillac really makes it hard to install an aftermarket radio as everything needs to go through the control box. MAKE SURE YOU UPDATE THE FIRMWARE BEFORE INSTALLING if you don't your AC controls might not work as it did for me. The wires were a mess so I wrapped them in tesa tape for a clean look. There is a relay attached to the harness for the turn signal click noise that made the harness clunky to work with. I ended up not needing it as when I turned on the signal it made no noise. As you see in the picture I removed it from the harness completely. Sound quality is great with this stereo. One thing to do before you install the radio is set on your stock radio the EQ to flat. The stock radio saves that data to the amp and you can't change it with the aftermarket radio installed unless you used a separate module called AX-LCD.

Overall, this kit is great. The instructions are very clear and the kit requires only minimal modification to the car's stock panels (you have to cut out a section of the dash behind the clock to fit a double-din).The wiring harness makes it very easy to install a Single or Double-DIN aftermarket radio, and the kit works well with OnStar. The only complaint I have is that if you have a digital amplifier (like my 2011 CTS does), you lose the ability to fade between the front/rear speakers, but if you don't adjust anything with your aftermarket radio your stock sound system will retain the settings you assigned with the stock Nav system.

Follow the instructions to a T. Communication with the metra company was great for providing assistance and key factors to help sync to your car. My Pioneer in-dash looks great. 1 thing to note you will need to cut the plastic to fit a double din which is explained in the instructions but not everyone has a Dremel tool laying around but I borrowed my buddies and it came out great. You will also need to reset the metra box everytime to make adjustments to your radio which can be a headache but it's required to sync everything and make it work. I will be getting the metra kit for the steering wheel control as well it's handy when turning your volume up and down.

Took it to best buy for installation. It's been there in their shop for a week. The issue was the control module. The climate control wouldn't shut off, the new in dash unit wouldn't come on. Once they hooked the stock system back up everything worked fine. They are in the process of trying to find a workaround involving keeping my stock radio mounted somewhere hidden and installing the new system simultaneously. The best buy service techs said that the control module isn't sending signals through the data wire which is making evening malfunction. From what they say Metra releases some kits that aren't fully tested. They sent over a firmware update via email and that didn't work. I might have to return the new dash, and everything else I just purchased because of this. It's a massive headache. I rate Metra 1 star, not the company that sold me the kit. The worst thing is u can't buy just a replacement control module, u have to buy the whole kit again because metra doesn't sell the piece by itself.

Arrived cracked ! Spend 140 bucks for it to be shipped in a plastic bag. Came with everything needed for the install. I'm a girl and did it myself. Yay me !! Everything hooks to the axxess box. Got my navigation and tv.2008 Cadillac CTS 4. Also all console controls work except the ones that were for the original radio.

I had to shave it down a little to fit the joying unit inside it. But it looks great.
