Excellent for bichirs!

My bichirs love this log! Excellent size and buoyancy. I did have to sand some sharp parts, but these days you have to do that to all resin aquarium decor. Overall, very happy with this purchase.

Nice addition to turtle tank.

Turtle loves his Log! Floats nicely and is stable. It is large so make sure it fits your tank or environment

Get it!

I have an RES hatchling and he has finally begun to use this log. In the beginning, I was worried that it was too steep for him to climb up... but that's not the case at all. He slowly started to warm up to me and started begging for food at every single opportunity he got... so I got sneaky. I started putting the food pellets on top of this log. When I came home from work, I noticed them to be mysteriously gone. Was he actually basking during the day? Had I been worried for nothing? Gradually, he started to feel comfortable going on his log even when I was in the same room. He now regularly perches on top of his log and extends his cute little head out for some UVA/UVB lights :-) Mine is a baby, less than an inch, and is faring well. The log is bottom heavy so it will NOT tip over. I plunk it in the water upside down and it immediately rights itself over. It is not sharp so when he slides off it to go back in the water I am not worried about his shell getting scratched. It is aesthetically pleasing and natural looking. Definite buy!

Love it

I have this in my 65 gallon tank and it’s great. It is free floating and so it moves around a lot but I think my turtle enjoys that, his filter kind of keep the log in one corner. It’s definitely his favorite thing to sun bathe on. I had to get another platform in addition to this one to feed him ok because this one rocks so much when he climbs on that he will dump all his food in the water. But overall it’s definitely his favorite spot to be either inside it or on top of it.

5 stars to 1

This is a great product for my turtle. I started with the zoo med floating turtle dock but then wanted to give this log a try to go with it.Had to buy it used cuz it was too expensive but I’m pretty sure he likes it. I heard some negative reviews about “your turtle will drown” but wanted to take my chances but it’s fine cuz he’s too big to fit inside. Mostly bought it for turtle and cuz it looks realistic and good detail. It actually does float and doesn’t sink to the bottom…Turtle enjoys it a lotI’d say 10 stars and 100% satisfied.Highly recommend for turtle owners.EDIT:about 2 months later, he got stuck inside. 10 minutes after i fed him, I heard him banging on the glass, and i knew something was wrong. i looked and he was stuck inside all the way. apparently, a shrimp got in there. of course, he went after it, and that's what happened... at that point, we were both thinking the same thing: "what do I do now?" Had to take log out of turtle tank and put it in the bath tub. i tried to gently pull him out from behind, but i couldn't from the front or he could've bitten me. He was totally stuck inside and i was about to break the log open with my bare hands, hopefully without hurting him. But thankfully i didn't have to cuz he got out, eventually, with my help. The problem was is that when he knew he was stuck, he tried to escape through the way he was facing. that's how he got really stuck cuz for some reason, that side of the log had a smaller opening. so then he tried going out the way he came in, (which would've been a good idea) but i don't blame him cuz he just a turtle. I was about to pull him gently from behind, but he was halfway out and I chose not to cuz i didn't know if i was hurting him, i just let him do it himself, cuz he knows what hurts him, but I don't.He got out, thank god. i don't think he was hurt but he looked really stressed, as i was. I was just relieved he was ok. he got nothing to bask on now cuz i threw out the basking dock cuz it broke a while ago. got to buy another dock now i guess. i think what I'm trying to say is that this log almost DROWNED my soulmate.I noticed the original review, I said he was too big to fit inside... but that was True though cuz i contacted the seller for questions I had. Well, what i didn't know was that he still COULD get stuck inside. Now i know.its not always what it seems...READERS BEWARE.

my turtle loves it

so the claim that this log will “never sink” is simply false. i got one of these for my eastern painted turtle years ago, and after maybe 2ish years, it began to sink and is now to the point that it doesn’t float at all. in addition to that, the paint comes off over time, especially if you clean it with a toothbrush like i do (which is kind of necessary in my opinion as it collects algae in all the little crevices). so, i decided it was finally time to replace it. my turtle really likes the log and often prefers it to his basking dock. sometimes he’ll even sleep on the log. i’d give it 5 stars if it truly never sunk but considering that it takes multiple years to lose its buoyancy, it still gets 4 stars.

Free floating island for my red ear slider

I have a 20 something year old red ear slider turtle. She has a 75 gallon tank. I bought this as an experiment as to whether she would use it or not. She loves it. While she spend a lot of time swimming around the tank, she also enjoys climbing up to get dry under the UVB and heat lights. I would buy this again and again if need be.
