Is the head smooth or bumpy. I need a bumpy one for taking high spots off of stones for wall building.

Durability

I belong to a rock and Gem Club and was hesitant on buying this. Very happy with it, I've gone on three outings a beat the crap out of it. The point on it is amazing and shows no signs of bending or mushrooming.Has a shorter handle than some but I like it and probably going to order a second while they are available. That way I can have one in both vehicles.

When your man says he can’t get down on his “old arthritic knees”

Little did I know when I bought this high quality rock picking’ tool, that I would be on my hands and knees digging a 100 foot ditch alone in its entirety. With little more then a little music, a good cold beer, and this handy rock pick that helped me dig through so much dirt and solid rock, I ended up with a whole new row of blisters on my hands.. not to say I didn’t enjoy helping my old man out, and the fact that I actually did find a cool rock, as an avid rockhound.. one thing this epic rock hammer did for me, was give me peace to know that my old man might just let me sleep in in the morning, because my muscles were so sore, not to mention the fact, he drove for an hour and a half from our off grid home, to buy me the beer that was “oh so good” on a beating Sun day, hands and knees.. overall, I would say, get this rock hammer, especially if you’re a rockhound. This thing will get you moving, you’ll ask for the hard work, and maybe you will find some cool rocks.

Please read not actually 5*

I would give it a 3 out of 5. I took it out today for the first time and on the second rock the tip was already flat. By the end of a hour and a half it was flattened about a half inch back. I was using this on a bigger rock so if you are breaking rocks that are about 2 to 3 inches thick you may be good. I wish the grip was turned around as well. But that's not really an issue it is as shown. I will sharpen the end back to a tip and keep it in kit for smaller rocks. It did wonderful for that.
