Very high-quality pair of binoculars
Beautiful pair of binoculars very, very well-made.The lens quality and light capture was the best by far of anything I looked at in the price category. I guess you expect that with German lens manufacturing. Highly recommend.

Great value binoculars. Sharp, bright and lightweight.
These are great binoculars for the price. Sharp and bright with lightweight materials for all day use. It's a nice feature that the eyepiece shades screw in for eyeglasses wearers. I suggest putting the eyepiece cover through the neck strap on only one side so it hangs out of the way while you're looking through the binocs. Nice also that the lens covers clip off the hang straps so you can leave them at home - they're not really necessary when the binocs are hanging around your neck and the lenses are facing down. Just speaking as someone who spent years doing all day building facade inspections using 1990's vintage Zeiss 10x40 T* armored binocs, these Terras are damn nice. You would have to spend a LOT more for something noticeably better and you don't have to treat the Terras like the family jewels if you're climbing around somewhere rugged, which you probably are.

Great Binoculars for the Price!
Received my new Zeiss Terra ED 10x42 binoculars today and compared them to the Nikon 7295 Monarch ATB 10x42 binoculars I've been using since June of 2010, both in a half-hour of watching the House sparrows across the street in the lilacs and using them for about an hour at one of my favorite near-by birding locations. The brightness of both binoculars is about the same, very good for both, but the Zeiss have a very noticeable edge in clarity. I can see fine details of the birds' feather patterns with the Zeiss that I cannot with the Nikons, helping to distinguish between all those troublesomely similar sparrows. The binocs seem solid and well-made, and adjustments and focusing are smooth. For the price these a GREAT binocs. I'm very pleased so far! Unfortunately, my wife also likes them a lot so I've a feeling I'll be using the old Nikons until I can afford another pair of Zeiss. Such is life...

Awesome!!!
These binoculars are a real value. My primary binoculars are Swarovski SLC 8X50 which I use for birding. I wanted a lighter pair with more magnification, and did not want to spend big bucks for a second pair of high quality binsoculars. I was pleased to discover that Zeiss made an affordable binocular and decided to try them out. The image is chrystal clear and very bright. I was impressed with the view as soon as i took my first look. The wide field of view made it easy to find the target with only a little bit of practice. The binocular comes with a very nice neoprene neck strap. It also includes a velvet soft pouch with a voucher for a heavy duty case if you are willing to pay shipping. There are also lens covers made of soft rubber and a cleaning cloth. I mentioned these items because I could find no information about what was included other than a display case. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of my purchase.

I love my Zeiss 10x42
I bow hunt and was tired of my old 100$ set fogging up so my father in law recommended these (entry level) this was all I could afford. He has the conquest and his wife has a few pair as she is a bird watcher. I'm a hunter and these are well worth the money. You spend less and get less. No fogging up and their clarity is so clear even at low light right before dark. Will never have to get another pair as these have lifetime warranty that you sent back and they fix.

Initial impression is good. Time will tell quality
Made in China. But it bears name. Initial impression is good. Time will tell quality.Update:I am updating my review after 2 months of use. Overall, this binocular is excellent for general purpose. But there are 2 shortcomings. The first is that objective lens cover does not fit tightly and comes off all the time. Secondly, a bag that comes with binocular is useless, so one needs to purchase a new bag to protect it.

Had these binoculars for 6 weeks and was totally satisfied, excellent image and they felt sturdy.
Had these binoculars for 6 weeks and was totally satisfied, excellent image and they felt sturdy, until we got caught in a heavy rain. After that, one of the tubes showed heavy condensation. Something a waterproof Zeiss shouldn't do! The disappointment was big.Update: under warranty the glasses were replaced.Update2: binoculars fell down from the table (75cm) onto the carpet and broke in half. Not good.
