Great cushion for wheelchair

It’s comfortable and I don’t feel like I am falling down too far.

I really liked this pad. I used it on my computer chair, where I work as a copywriter for 8-10 hours a day. It held up really well. Then one day, I felt 'wet' after sitting for a while. I was baffled until I opened it and saw a little leak in the 'fill material.' I had seen one of my cats sleeping on it earlier in the week and can only assume one of her nails must have gone through the cover and pierced the inner compartment. No one's fault -- just (maybe) not cat-proof!

We purchased one of these over 6 years ago and it was used hard, decided it needed replaced and the new one is great also!

I picked up the cushion to fold the wheelchair to put it in the car. It was dripping out of the cushion and soaking into the wheelchair seat. I did not realize and now it has ruined the foam cushion on the inside.

This cushion is fine if you aren't sitting on it for long periods of time, as someone confined to a wheelchair would. It starts out fairly soft and shapes itself to your bottom, but in just a few days it becomes hard and more and more uncomfortable. I bought the 20x16 cushion and in under 3 weeks bought the smaller 18x16, thinking the size might be the issue. It wasn't. I've just bought a different brand of cushion altogether and am waiting for it to arrive. As I said, the Kolbs cushion may work well for occasional use but not for long periods sitting in a wheelchair.

I have no idea how much pain relief or comfort this is providing for my wife but it has to be better than the hard fabric seat on the wheelchair. She spends several hours a day in the chair and I never see her showing signs of discomfort but she has no way of communicating that to me. I wanted a "thinner" pad than the 3" and 4" like most other pads. It's heavy so there must be plenty of gel. Seems to be working out very well.
