Makes a great gift for young boys
My nephew loved this book so much, he halted his birthday party gifts to read it all the way through.Little tip: You might want to loosen all of the flaps beforehand, since some of them stick initially and can be broken by overly enthusiastic young hands.

Great book.
Bought this book for my grandson who turned 3. It is his favorite book right now. Loves all the pictures and interaction he has with some of the pictures. Great book for a toddler.

Awesome book!
The coolest book for a toddler truck enthusiast. It’s interactive (flaps, pop ups, etc.), so it keeps my son entertained for some time.

Amazing but fragile
Amazing! Just wish some attachments weren't as fragile.

Beautifully detailed and lots to see; but sliding elements are tight and are the first to be torn
This oversized book has 5-20 vehicles on each pair of pages, which are organized around a theme: demolition, construction, city maintenance, agriculture, road and rail travel, commercial transportation, rescue, fishing, sea travel, air travel, space travel. The drawings are detailed to the point where most of the flaps are illustrated on their backsides, so opening the flaps actually produces a new, and sensible scene, or shows the inside of the door, panel, or vehicle wall that the occupants would see (not a blank flap backside). There are many flaps and a few rotating or sliding elements. The presentation is packed with high-contrast colors, and while not every vehicle has flaps, sometimes it's hard to know if we have looked under all the flaps or features on a page. In my copy, the sliding elements were very tight, and my daughter ripped off the bucket at the end of the rescue ladder while extending it toward the burning building. The size range of the flaps is large, with the smallest about 1 square inch, and the largest about the size of a 3"x5" card. Overall, not the most usable lift-the-flap book, but because of the interesting content, not bad.I was fascinated at the commercial fishing boat, complete with filleting operation and deep freeze.I was less fascinated at the demolition, construction, and space travel pages --- not much to see or do there.Regarding the demographics of the humans: well, there are about twice as many men as women, almost no female drivers or pilots. The high-speed passenger train is comfortable; the bus from Pakistan is overloaded. The number of humans per page ranges from about 10 (city maintenance) to 50 (road/rail and sea travel). Two humans shown on the space travel page. I sense that the book is written from a perspective other than North America, but I can't exactly say why.Note to translator: found a single not-completely-translated French word: in the nose-cone of the passenger jet: "le radar" does not need "le" in English.
